Join our healthcare team and experience one of the best North Carolina nursing jobs available!\n \n\nPCU Registered Nurse Job Details\n\n • Location: Wilmington, NC 28401\n, • Unit: Cardiac Telemetry – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)\n, • Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract\n, • Contract Duration: 13 weeks (option to extend up to 26 weeks)\n, • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1700 - $1750\n, • Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15), 36 hours per week\n, • Start Date: November 24, 2025\n, • Patient Ratios: 1:4 for surgical step down, 1:5-6 for lower acuity\n, • Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks (flexible)\n, • Unit Orientation: 24 hours\n, • Scrubs: Navy\n\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n\n, • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in cardiac care (PCU, Telemetry, Stepdown, DOU, IMC)\n, • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state (must be in hand at start)\n, • BLS & ACLS certifications required\n, • NIHSS certification required\n, • Must pass EKG testing prior to start\n, • Epic charting experience preferred\n, • Required skills: Cardiac Telemetry, Sheath Removal, Dysrhythmia interpretation/management, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Cardiac drip management (including titration), Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac), External CPAP/BIPAP, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management\n, • Preferred: Arterial line management, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Charge nurse experience\n\n\nPCU Nurse Responsibilities\n\n, • Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac and vascular conditions (atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, valve disorders, endocarditis, cardiomyopathy, PVD, PAD, vasculitis, carotid stenosis, and more)\n, • Monitor and manage patients post cardiac and thoracic surgeries (CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, Watchman, VATS, vascular surgeries, pacemaker placements, etc.)\n, • Operate specialized clinical equipment: Doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, femoral sheaths, TR band, chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires, cardiac drips\n, • Document and communicate patient care using Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR systems\n, • Float to other hospital units as needed (not first to float; follows unit rotation)\n, • Participate in Storm Team/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events as required\n, • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and more\n We believe in empowering your career.
