Our properties are open Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and on Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Job Description POSITION SUMMARY Learning Gardens brings year-round, field and school-based garden science learning to NYC school children and community members. Our gardens are outdoor classrooms that provide vibrant green space in some of New York City’s most densely populated neighborhoods. We operate three gardens in three boroughs. Using our four community gardens, CPF presents engaging interdisciplinary lessons to expand student learning around urban ecology, horticulture, soil science, and sustainable urban food systems. Students in 2nd – 8th grade and their teachers receive resource materials, curricula, and tools to enhance their understanding of ecosystem services and address the unique challenges of growing food in an urban environment. High School interns are trained in garden instruction and horticultural techniques throughout the spring and then work alongside Learning Gardens staff throughout the summer. The Seasonal Garden Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day field operations in our main Learning Gardens located in Brownsville, South Jamaica, and the South Bronx. This includes garden maintenance, repairs, coordinating volunteer events, and assisting the community gardener program. The ideal candidate will be an excellent time manager, able to multitask, very well-organized, and an effective communicator. This is a seasonal, 8-month position reporting to the Director of Education and assisting the school day and internship program managers. Aging Alone Together is a program within DOROTs Onsite and Special Programs Department. THE OPPORTUNITY In this role, you will become an expert in our program curriculum and implement Aging Alone Together programs working in collaboration with partners across the country and support our goals to increase the number of individuals who benefit from this program, expanding DOROTs reach and impact. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Aging Alone Together Program Implementation • Oversee the day-to-day implementation of DOROTs Aging Alone Together programs conducted with non-profit, government, and other partners throughout the country and administer practices for collaboration., • Serve as lead contact with partners, participants, and facilitators throughout program development, implementation, and follow-up. This includes fostering effective and mutually beneficial collaborations and overseeing communication and logistical details that are pivotal to success., • Plan and lead virtual and in-person Aging Alone Together programs., • Monitor and guide sessions, ensuring alignment with DOROTs mission and programmatic goals. Community Education and Resources • Manage online AAT Resource and Partners sections on the DOROT website, including new video content., • Conceive, develop and implement our virtual and in-person Living Well Digitally community education programs, which involves working with journalists, legal experts, and other technology experts to design large-format lectures and small workshops Program Administration • Collect, track, andmaintainprogram, partner and constituent information using DOROTs online database (Salesforceplatform); this involves routine data entry and monthly review of statistics for both internal reports and trend analysis., • Support other programs within the Onsite and Special Program portfolio., • Special projects as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in program coordination, social services, nonprofit management, or other related fie, • Experience planning and coordinating programs, • Strong communication and presentation skills, • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, • Work well both independently and as a member of a team, • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to follow through to achieve deliverables, • Passion for supporting older adults and building community, • Experience working with older adults preferred, • Proficiency with MS Office Suite; experience with Salesforce or another database, • Availability to work occasional evening hours and up to four(4) Sundays per year for programs and/or events including, but not limited to, Package Delivery WHY WORK WITH US At DOROT, we believe that the power of connection can be transformative. What You Have Done • PhD with 7+ years / Masters with 10+ years of industry experience in life sciences with extensive domain knowledge in drug discovery (target ID through lead optimization), preclinical development, CMC (all drug modalities), or product quality testing., • Proven track record of defining, designing, prototyping, and implementing productized AI/ML-driven use cases in cloud environments, • Collaborated with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, and scientific stakeholders., • Performed extensive exploratory data analysis and workflow optimization to enable scientific outcomes not previously possible., • Engaged diverse audiences, from scientists to executive stakeholders using your excellent communication and storytelling abilities., • You will be a critical team member in a unique partnership to industrialize Scientific AI.
