Job Description Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, At-Will Reports to: Warehouse Manager Department: Operations Location: Hybrid, Lancaster, CA. Location Status: Work will be primarily performed onsite at our office or remotely by telecommuting from your home office 2 - 4 days per week. Employee will utilize personal phone or internet services to perform telecommuting with reimbursement. Summary: The Warehouse Supervisor plays a pivotal role overseeing the daily operations of a warehouse, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety. They are responsible for managing a team of warehouse staff, organizing workflow, and optimizing processes to meet operational goals. Warehouse Supervisors maintain inventory accuracy, coordinate shipments, and collaborate with other departments to facilitate smooth operations. With a focus on safety and compliance, they ensure adherence to workplace regulations and maintain a secure and orderly warehouse environment. Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential in this role. Qualifications and Experience: • Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship, • Minimum of 18 years of age, • A valid California driver's license, subject to successful verification through a DMV check, is mandatory, • Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor or a similar management position is required, • Previous experience in warehouse operations, with progressively increasing responsibility, • Proven working knowledge of warehouse operations and management is preferred, • Proven knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for warehouse operations, • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (may require certification), • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus, • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment, • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English as the primary language used in the workplace Skills: • Proficient use of MS Office applications including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; teleconferencing applications, • Functional use of common office equipment, computers, and office software Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Communication and Reporting: • Communicates daily warehouse activities with warehouse associates, • Provides daily detailed reports to warehouse management, • Collaborates with team leads regarding personnel movement and workload completion, • Resolves warehouse-related issues with representatives from other departments Personnel Management and Training: • Attends effectively to employees and ensures policy compliance, • Supervises and evaluates the performance of warehouse employees, • Assists in the hiring process, including interviewing potential employees, • Coordinates with the warehouse manager on personnel matters, • Trains warehouse employees and team leads Operations and Resource Management: • Supervises efficient warehouse and transportation operations, • Plans and organizes work and resource flow for safe and effective shifts, • Monitors supplies and coordinates replenishment, • Ensures equipment is in proper working condition and coordinates repairs, • Maintains attendance, productivity information, and employee performance logs, • Ensures restocking of merchandise and shipping containers for order selection staff Safety and Compliance: • Leads the crew by example, maintaining safe work practices in adherence to OSHA safety policies, • Maintains a working knowledge of all operating systems in the work area Supervisory Responsibilities: • Leads by example and follows guidelines and policies outlined in the Race Communications Employee Handbook, • Provides direct supervision and support to employees regarding team-related issues across various practices within the department, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and relevant laws and regulations, • Lead and motivate team members to achieve goals, set performance standards, and provide constructive feedback through regular evaluations, • Oversee the accurate and timely submission of timecards, ensuring compliance with payroll deadlines, while addressing discrepancies or issues, • Identify training needs and facilitate professional development to enhance team skills and performance, • Address conflicts and resolve interpersonal issues within the team, fostering a positive work environment, • Manage resources effectively, ensure the team has the necessary tools to succeed, and track progress towards clear, aligned objectives, • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, while keeping communication open and transparent with team members, • Report team performance and project updates to upper management, making adjustments as needed to meet targets, • Supervisory responsibilities may include direct supervision of subordinates, along with participating in the hiring process but does not have final authority on hiring or termination decisions, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
