Job Description POSITION SUMMARY Join a growing team of consulting engineers and project managers specializing in design, drilling, and maintenance of subsurface salt caverns and injection wells; and environmental regulatory compliance. This position will be responsible for performing business accounting tasks including internal report preparation, invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, procurement and project cost control, and payroll. Strata’s clients include midstream oil and gas, manufacturing, chemical, and heavy industrial clients. This full-time position will work with team members, contractors and vendors daily and must represent Strata in a professional manner. The Staff Accountant must be able to work within a team environment and independently while upholding professional ethics. It is imperative that the Accounting Associate has a keen eye for detail and good organizational skills. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • AP clerk duties, i.e., process and pay invoices via checks and ACH payments., • AR clerk duties, i.e., submit invoices and assure receipt of timely payments; prepare and submit past due statements., • Assist with processing/tracking payroll, timesheets, expense reports, and PTO., • Issue sales tax certificates., • Maintain and file accounting records., • Manage shared email inboxes., • Assist in compiling data for financial reports., • Experience:, • None required. One (1) or more years of experience preferred in A/R, A/P, and/or invoice management. On the job training provided for the right candidate., • Required Skills:, • Exceptional numerical and calculation skills required., • Superb organizational skills are critical to this position., • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping: deposit checks, process payables and payroll., • Understanding of accounting principles and ability to read financial statements., • Must be able to effectively communicate with clients, contractors, and co-workers via emails, calls, messaging, and/or face to face in a manner that can be understood by all., • Strong writing skills demonstrated through the creation of reports, plans, procedures, memos, letters, and other professional documents., • Personality Attributes:, • Must be detail oriented and have an analytical mentality., • Proactive and responsive communicator who confidently initiates phone calls and follow-ups to drive progress and resolve issues efficiently., • Someone who is not happy with the status quo but always looks for a better way to complete tasks and make Strata better. Does what is ethical., • Education: Associate’s degree required. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related business field is preferred. Experience is most important., • Computer Skills: A high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, is a must., • Confidentiality: Must be able to work under attorney/client privilege and respect and uphold Strata and client confidentiality., • Physical Activity: must be able to climb stairs; must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., • Transportation: Valid driver’s license and safe driving record., • Travel: Must be willing and able to travel on rare occasions., • Authorization to Work: Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
