Team Lead System Engineer Location: Remote from Spain (an indefinite Spanish employment contract) Client is a leader in iGaming innovation, creating cutting-edge games and solutions, including the globally popular Aviator. They focus on redefining the online gambling experience with next-generation products tailored for dynamic and engaging gameplay .Requirements • :6+ years of experience in DevOps/Infrastructure Engineering with strong exposure to AWS-based environments, • .2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing DevOps / Platform / Infrastructure Engineering teams, • .Strong understanding of modern cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes ecosystems, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD practices, and platform engineering principles, • .Technical background in Linux-based environments, networking, security, observability, and production operations, • .Comprehensive understanding of the DevOps lifecycle, including configuration management, orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and security practices, • .Proven experience leading and managing a DevOps or System Engineering team (task planning, prioritization, workload distribution), • .Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives involving engineering teams, architects, product managers, security teams, and business stakeholders, • .Experience running day-to-day delivery: sprint planning support, task tracking, dependency management, and delivery follow-up, • .Strong ownership mindset: accountable for team outcomes, stability of environments, and operational continuity, • .Ability to mentor engineers, support onboarding, and grow less-senior team members, • .Comfortable operating in a regulated or security-restricted environment, balancing delivery speed with compliance, • .Hands-on technical background sufficient to review designs, challenge solutions, and guide discussions, without being the main technical decision-maker, • .Clear communication skills, especially for explaining risks, trade-offs, and progress to non-technical stakeholders, • .Ability to identify process bottlenecks and drive incremental improvements in team efficiency and collaboration, • .At least B2 level of English .Responsibilities • :Own day-to-day leadership of the DevOps / System Engineering team, ensuring predictable delivery and operational stability, • .Plan, prioritize, and coordinate team workload in alignment with architects, product owners, and stakeholders, • .Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of cloud and on-prem infrastructure, • .Oversee infrastructure changes implemented via Terraform, Kubernetes, and automation tools, ensuring quality and consistency, • .Guide and review CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure designs, and operational practices without micromanaging implementation, • .Act as the first escalation point for delivery, operational, and environment-related issues, • .Balance delivery speed with compliance, security, and regulatory constraints, • .Support incident management, root-cause analysis, and post-incident improvements, • .Mentor team members, support onboarding, and help engineers grow technically and professionally, • .Drive continuous improvement of DevOps processes, tooling, and collaboration patterns, • .Communicate risks, dependencies, and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, • .Coordinate with other teams to ensure smooth integration, handovers, and shared responsibility models, • .Maintain documentation standards where needed, while avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy, • .Ensure accurate time tracking, reporting, and alignment with agreed delivery expectations .Why this position • :The opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a dynamic and innovative company, • .A collaborative and supportive work environment with a focus on professional growth .
