Summary The Head of Commercial, reporting to the VP, General Manager Spain, is accountable for leading Madrigal’s sales and marketing organization to successfully launch, establish, and grow Rezdiffra in the Spanish market. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on execution, ensuring that commercial strategies are tailored to local market dynamics while aligned with regional and global priorities. As a key member of the Country leadership team, the Head of Commercial will inspire and develop a high-performing team, partner closely with Market Access and Medical Affairs to deliver compliant, coordinated plans, and engage with external stakeholders to expand patient access. Acting as an enterprise leader, the incumbent will demonstrate patient focus in every decision, act with an owner mindset, champion innovation, and foster collaboration to drive impact and advance Madrigal’s purpose of leading the fight against MASH. Key Responsibilities • Lead the commercial strategy for the launch and long-term growth of Rezdiffra in the Spanish market, ensuring alignment with regional and global priorities, • Maximize the commercial potential of Madrigal’s products through the development and execution of integrated sales and marketing plans, adapted to local market dynamics, • Inspire, lead, and equip the sales organization — including Sales Managers and Key Account Managers — to successfully establish and expand Rezdiffra’s presence, • Ensure a strategic approach to talent management by attracting, developing, retaining, and planning succession for a high-performing commercial team, • Partner with Market Access to ensure seamless integration of access strategies into commercial planning and execution, • Collaborate with Medical Affairs (Medical Director, Advisors, and MSLs) to jointly design and deliver compliant medical-commercial initiatives such as KOL development, clinical program support, symposia, and expert panels, • Develop and implement market research initiatives to inform strategy, track performance, and guide decision-making, • Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring that marketing and sales expenditures are aligned with launch and growth objectives, • Track and analyze product performance against forecasts and KPIs, adjusting strategy and tactics as needed, • Engage directly with external stakeholders through customer-facing activities (joint visits, KOL meetings, congresses, and events) to strengthen relationships and drive adoption, • Collaborate actively with Global, International, and U.S. teams to share insights, benchmark performance, and implement best practices that strengthen commercial excellence worldwide, • Act as an enterprise leader, contributing to the Country leadership team, fostering collaboration across functions, and ensuring all commercial activities comply with Madrigal’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and Spanish pharmaceutical regulations Profile • Extensive experience in pharmaceutical commercial leadership, ideally experience in Gastroenterology or/and Hepatology, • Proven success in managing both sales and marketing teams, with strong leadership and coaching skills, • Demonstrated expertise in product launches and building market presence in complex therapeutic areas, • Deep understanding of the Spanish healthcare, hospital, and payer landscape, with good knowledge of Market Access dynamics, • Experience partnering with Medical Affairs to develop and jointly deliver compliant cross-functional plans that optimize launch readiness and customer engagement, • Strategic and analytical thinker, with the ability to set vision and translate it into actionable plans, • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, capable of leading in a matrix and cross-functional environment, • Entrepreneurial and solution-oriented mindset, acting as a true owner of the business, • Recognized as a role model leader, with a track record of building engaged, high-performing teams Qualifications • University degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred), • Minimum 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales, marketing, or commercial leadership roles, • Proven track record in specialty pharma and/or hospital-based therapeutic areas, • Strong knowledge of CRM, Key Account Planning, and BI tools to drive sales and marketing performance, • Fluent in Spanish and English, • Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally internationally, as needed Additional Information Madrigal is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
