Quality Manager • £60,000 – £75,000 basic salary DOE, • Bonus up to 20%, • Pension, • 24 days leave + public holidays, • Relocation support negotiable, • Days – Monday to Friday (early finish on Fridays) Location: South Lanarkshire, Scotland Umbilical Search is proud to be working with a highly successful and growing advanced manufacturing business operating within a high-volume, technically complex production environment. Following a recent promotion, significant investment, operational transformation, and continued growth, the business is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the Quality and HSE functions at one of its flagship manufacturing facilities. This is a key senior leadership appointment offering the opportunity to build upon an already strong quality platform while driving continuous improvement, customer excellence, compliance, and operational performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a well-established quality team, managing customer and supplier quality performance, maintaining world-class quality systems, and developing a proactive quality culture focused on prevention rather than reaction. This role will suit an influential people leader who combines strong technical quality expertise with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop teams while contributing to wider business strategy. For further information on this confidential assignment, please email an up-to-date CV and contact number to ajay@umbilicaladvanced.com Key Accountabilities: • Lead the Quality and HSE functions across a complex manufacturing operation, • Drive a proactive quality culture focused on prevention, continuous improvement, and operational excellence, • Maintain and improve Quality Management Systems in line with industry standards, • Lead customer quality reviews, audits, site visits, and performance meetings, • Manage customer concerns and corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies, • Oversee supplier quality performance, audits, development activities, and non-conformance management, • Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and industry certifications, • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and transfer projects, • Lead and develop Quality, Audit, Engineering, Technician, and HSE teams through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning, • Drive improvements in Right First Time, scrap reduction, Cost of Poor Quality, yield, and waste performance, • Monitor and improve audit performance, compliance metrics, and customer escalation status, • Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively, • Work closely with senior leadership to align quality objectives with business strategy, • Promote best practice, standardisation, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations Experience Required: • Role: Quality Manager, Quality Supervisor or related, • Management & Leadership: Leadership of quality teams – 20+ employees, • Sectors: Aerospace, Medical, Automotive, Nuclear, RF, Semiconductor, Special Materials Manufacturing, Food, and other highly regulated manufacturing environments, • Qualifications: Degree educated / HNC / HND (Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality-related discipline preferred), • Audit Experience: Internal, customer, supplier, and third-party audit experience essential; industry auditor experience advantageous, • Quality Experience: Strong quality management background with proven experience leading quality functions within manufacturing environments, • ERP systems experience essential, with a strong understanding of continuous improvement/lean methodologies, • Location: Based within commuting distance of South Lanarkshire, or willing to relocate for the opportunity How to Apply: Please click “apply” or, for further information, contact Ajay Bhella at Umbilical Limited.
