SEN Maths & English Tutor – Southwark | 1:1 Tuition | SEMH | Autism | ADHD | Ages 5–25 Location: Southwark (South London & surrounding areas) Job Type: Part-time / Full-time (Monday-Friday) Pay: £22.50-£35.00 per hour New Chapter Tuition is recruiting experienced and passionate SEN Maths & English (Possible Science required) Tutors to provide 1:1 personalised tuition to children and young people aged 5–25 across Southwark and surrounding areas. This role is ideal for teachers, tutors, learning mentors, HLTAs, teaching assistants, and education professionals with experience supporting learners with Autism (ASC), SEMH, ADHD, EBSA, and complex additional needs. You will deliver high-quality, nurture-led and trauma informed Maths & English tuition in community settings including family homes, libraries, and learning hubs, supporting learners who may be out of education or struggling in mainstream settings. Key Responsibilities • Deliver 1:1 SEN Maths & English tuition for learners aged 5–25 • Support students with Autism, SEMH, ADHD, EBSA, and additional needs • Plan and deliver personalised learning programmes aligned to the UK National Curriculum • Adapt sessions in line with EHCPs and individual learning plans • Use trauma-informed and nurture-based approaches • Build positive relationships to support engagement, confidence, and wellbeing • Track progress and complete session reports • Liaise with parents, schools, and professionals Requirements • Experience supporting SEN / SEND learners (Autism, SEMH, ADHD, EBSA) • Strong understanding of behaviour, SEMH needs, and engagement strategies • Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum (Maths & English) • Background as a teacher, tutor, HLTA, TA, mentor, or education professional preferred • Calm, patient, and resilient approach • Strong communication and organisational skills • Ability to deliver tuition independently in home or community settings • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) • Right to work in the UK What We Offer • Competitive hourly rates • Flexible working hours • Part-time and full-time tuition opportunities • Ongoing CPD and SEND training • Access to professional development resources • Dedicated tutor support team • Opportunities for long-term placements and progression Safeguarding All roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references, and right-to-work verification.
