Background G&B already has over 3,000 trade accounts nationwide and following significant investment across the product range, factory, samples and marketing, the trade business is geared for an exciting new chapter in its journey. Covering a national sales & business development role, you will be an important face of G&B whereby you will deliver a best in class service that sees the business significantly grow sales with both existing and new accounts. G&B have a wide profile of customer accounts ranging from small independent local blind sellers, larger regional in-home service retailers, interior designers, through to both regional and national commercial fit-out specialists. G&B has an extensive supply chain that includes the industry leading brands, coupled with our own in-house sourced ranges, subsequently representing a genuine ‘single source solution’ for trade accounts. Reflecting the opportunity, we are seeking a dyna,highly motivated National Sales Manager that is commercially savvy, who ideally brings window covering industry experience, exceptional relationships, communication and organisational skills. This is an exciting role within a reputable, successful and highly ambitious company, whereby the successful candidate will report directly in to the G&B Trade Business Manager and Group Commercial Director. Key responsibilities ● Effectively manage relationships across a portfolio of existing accounts, establishing trust, while delivering long-term success through long standing relationships, maximising G&B’s share of those accounts window coverings spend. ● Seek and convert new business development opportunities, establishing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers. ● Effectively qualify scope for sales opportunities through both existing and potential new accounts alike, subsequently tailoring approach, including time, focus and level of priority. ● Maintain and manage your own diary to ensure maximum effectiveness of your time, sharing with line management. ● Maximise revenue and profit margins from all customer interactions. ● Effective utilisation of the company management information systems, including the CRM database and other forms of MI. ● Actively promote multiple product categories to new and existing customers alike to enhance cross category sales. ● Develop business within new markets where possible. ● Maximise distribution, revenue and return on investment from all available sampling. ● Support in the development and delivery of go to market sales plans for products and services, effectively tailoring approach to suitably target different customer profiles. ● Contribute ideas and recommendations for new product development (NPD) opportunities and priorities. ● Support the shaping and development of the commercial strategy for the trade business, including business planning and budgeting. ● Identify, deliver and manage where appropriate commercial JV partnership opportunities. ● Attend events and shows where Green & Brown exhibit. ● Deliver structured customer feedback and insight to the business with regards to trends, product, quality and service. ● Be a strong and positive brand ambassador for the company. ● Deliver a best in class service to our customers, prospective customers and internal stakeholders alike. ● Be proactive across all relevant social media platforms to support and drive online presence. ● Continually strive to grow customer sign-up and engagement via our marketing touchpoints, including email and social media. ● Effectively support both line management and the wider business leadership team. ● Leading by example in setting a standard of excellence, you will support the development of the wider trade team. ● Hold weekly 1:1’s with line management, coupled with producing and presenting weekly and monthly reports as necessary. Person Specification ● 3-5 years plus experience within the blinds industry in a similar sales related role. ● Experience of window coverings wholesale is preferable. ● Experience in the blinds industry specific to soft fabrics/textiles is desirable. ● Experience with dealing with larger commercial customers is desirable. ● Experience in dealing with tenders is desirable. ● Experience and engagement on social media platforms is desirable. ● Excellent communication and relationship building skills. ● Proven self-starter that effectively works on own initiative, while also being a team player. ● Capability to lead by example with a positive, proactive and professional ‘can do’ attitude. ● Capability to identify potential opportunities, scoping out potential solutions and sharing recommendations with line management and wider leadership team. ● We are a growing company and would favour someone with the ambition to progress further over time. Package ● Basic salary = £40-45k (subjective to candidate / location) ● Commission / bonus = up to 20% of salary paid monthly ● Hours = 40 per week ● Location = covering the UK, it is anticipated at minimum 3 days per week on the road, circa 2 days per month in the office, with further circa 5 days per month working from home or the office. It is anticipated that for the first two weeks induction and training these will be office based. ● Probation period = 6 months, with monthly check-in and 3 month formal review. ● Holidays = 30 days including statutory ● Expenses = Company car with fuel for work travel covered, accommodation and food allowance when necessary.
