You will work with the Arts Principal Research Officer to support the analytical needs of the arts team, providing support in a dynamic and varied policy area. We are looking for a highly driven analyst with strong technical skills to work on priority analytical projects. This includes analysis of the arts sectors impact on economic growth and understanding the f i nancial resilience organisations and the arts impact on local economies. Given the role will work across a wide range of stakeholders including policy, ALBs, consultancies, research councils, the role is suited to those with strong verbal and written communication skills, economic and econometric skills. In addition the post holder will be required to build strong stakeholder relationships with the museum and cultural property sector, influencing the use of research data and evaluation. You should be able to work with policy officials to think strategically about the role of evidence and analysis within the wider cultural and heritage space e.g. linking up with the Culture and Heritage Capital programme. Some of your responsibilities will include: • Delivery analysis on policy programmes ensure they informed by the latest analysis and evidence. In the past this has included analysis of the arts sectors impact on economic growth, understanding the financial resilience organisations and the arts impact on local economies., • Engaging with policy colleagues to increase the visibility and impact of analysis and taking a proactive approach to deploying analysis and evidence and improving capabilities., • Providing expert technical advice to business cases, working directly with ACE and other large organisations (i.e. National Theatre or the Southbank Centre) to develop robust and innovative proposals with strong economic, strategic and value for money cases., • Working with the ACE analytical team to support their research, analysis and evaluation., • Working with external organisations to leverage market intelligence and sector expertise. This will include building relationships with leading academics and researchers in the Arts.Person specification Essential Requirements • A self-starter who is able to lead analytical projects and be proactive in setting out priorities and plans of action., • An effective communicator who can work with a wide range of stakeholders, building valuable and influential relationships, use written and verbal communication to convey complex analytical concepts or analysis., • Project management and organisational skills, as you will drive forward discrete pieces of work., • Excellent econometric/statistical skills and a proven ability to identify and define core analytical questions to inform decision making, and devise the most appropriate approaches to address, within time and resource constraints., • Strong applied knowledge and application of microeconomic and macroeconomic principles to real-world policy problems., • Proficiency with analytical tools such as R or Python for econometric analysis., • Proficiency in using SQL, • Knowledge of the Arts sector and the wider creative industries.
