Location: Exeter HQ (2–3 days onsite, flexible as required) Contract Type: 12 months (high possibility of extension) IR35: In Scope Pay Rate: £319 per day (Umbrella) Security Clearance: SC required Role Overview As a Project Support Officer (PSO3), you will play a crucial role in supporting a major transformation programme aimed at modernising operational and customer-facing services. You will help keep programme and project delivery on track by coordinating activities, maintaining governance and controls, monitoring progress, and ensuring smooth communication across multiple teams. This role provides the opportunity to contribute directly to an ambitious, high-profile initiative, enabling teams to deliver integrated, user-centred, and future-ready services. Key Responsibilities • Planning & Scheduling: Maintain systems to enable effective programme/project planning and scheduling; ensure plans are up to date and tracked., • Monitoring & Reporting: Develop programme performance reports, manage programme controls, and lead monthly reporting to stakeholders., • Governance & Secretariat: Ensure compliance with organisational policies, act as liaison with the Portfolio Office, and advise on standards and best practice., • Support: Help refine customer requirements, prepare artefacts for Programme Boards, and maintain records within project management systems., • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships across internal and external stakeholders; manage correspondence and Programme Board documentation., • Financial Control: Monitor programme/project expenditure, contribute to forecasts, budgets, and business cases., • Risk & Issue Management: Lead risk management processes, maintain Risks, Issues, Decisions, Actions, and Change Control (RIDAC) artefacts, and escalate issues as required. Essential Skills & Qualifications • APM Project Management or PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification, or equivalent experience in a formal Programme/Project environment, • Experience developing and maintaining systems for planning, reporting, resource/financial management, risk, scope, change control, lessons learned, and benefits, • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, • Proven ability to manage multiple risks, opportunities, and issues to successful resolution, • Solid understanding of governance, including first and second line assurance, • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with ability to prioritise a challenging workload, • SC (Security Clearance) Desirable Skills • Experience with project management systems such as ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint, PowerBI, Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), • Experience working with agile/incremental delivery and waterfall approaches Why Join Us?
