Field Service Engineer – Heavy Plant & Construction Equipment 📍 Dartford, Kent 💼 Full-Time | Permanent 💰 Salary: £40,000 – £44,000 + Overtime A leading international machinery and equipment provider is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join its expanding service team. Operating across the construction, material handling, recycling, and transport sectors, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality equipment and exceptional aftersales support throughout the UK and internationally. Working Hours: • Monday – Wednesday: 8:30am – 4:30pm, • Thursday: 8:30am – 4:00pm Key Responsibilities: • Service, maintain, and repair heavy construction and plant equipment, • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and technical expertise, • Carry out breakdown repairs and routine maintenance efficiently and safely, • Identify additional service and repair opportunities while on customer sites, • Complete electronic job reports, timesheets, and service documentation accurately and in real time, • Install software updates and support equipment optimisation, • Order and manage parts required for repairs, • Provide customers with technical support and maintain high service standards, • Attend manufacturer and product training courses when required, • Participate in overtime and call-out rotas where necessary Candidate Requirements: • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in:, • Plant Maintenance, • HGV, • Agricultural Engineering, • or a related discipline, • Proven experience servicing and repairing heavy plant, construction, or agricultural equipment, • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across:, • Diesel engines, • Hydraulics, • Transmissions, • Electrical systems, • Good understanding of modern diagnostic systems and computer-based service tools, • Strong communication and customer service skills, • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively, • Full UK driving licence What’s on Offer: • Competitive salary of £40,000 – £44,000, • Overtime paid at enhanced rates, • Company vehicle and tools, • Pension scheme with employer contributions, • Healthcare cash plan and GP access, • Enhanced family leave and sick pay, • Employee discounts and salary sacrifice schemes, • Ongoing manufacturer training and career development, • Long service recognition and team engagement initiatives This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer looking to join a well-established and supportive business offering strong career progression and industry-leading training opportunities.
