Role: Assistant Employer’s Agent – (JPC-105) Location: Bristol Sector: Public & Private Sector Consultancy Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 Overview The role will incorporate assisting the Project Manager/Employer’s Agent in delivery of Projects for a variety of Clients. The role will require office and site attendance. Work for a small team, reporting directly to the Team Leader / Delivery Director. Working within the Bristol office and onsite, gaining skills, knowledge and experience of the Employer’s Agent role and contract administration. Experience/Qualifications • Degree level qualification working towards professional qualification., • Previous work, preferably within a construction setting, • Valid UK driving licence required Skills, Knowledge and Understanding • Liaise closely with Clients, Contractors, Developers, Clerk of Works and other key stakeholders, • Begin to understand the requirements of Developers, Contractors, Housing Associations and Local Authorities and how they differ as Clients, • Develop an understanding of the requirements of your role as EA within the business in close collaboration with your team leader, develop communication skills, • Begin to advise clients on matters arising on schemes, • Taking minutes in meetings and understanding the context of discussion points, • Understand what the key outputs (deliverables) are within a project, to ensure the Client gets the information they need following the QMS, • Understand key deliverables within your contract to ensure the Client gets the information they need, • Work towards completing a relevant professional qualification (support will be provided), • Have an interest in developing a career path within the built environment and develop the skills and knowledge consistent with the post of Employer’s Agent Pre-Contract Procedures and Administration • Pre-Contract Procedures, Admin, due diligence, surveys and inspections, • Assist with discussions with Contractors, Developers, Clients and Stakeholders, • Begin to understand the requirements of Developers, Contractors, Housing Associations and Local Authorities and how they differ as clients, • Develop an understanding of the requirements of your role as EA within the business with close collaboration with your team leader, • Take Pre-Contract minutes, • Develop and understand the brief along with your Team Leader to assist scheme delivery, • Preparation of Notices, Certificates and Payments, • Carry out key reviews to identify scheme compliance vs key criteria, • Stakeholder communication, • Assist in preparing Contract Documents, • Cost Benchmarking understanding, • Assist with the tender processes and procurement of key consultants. Post-Contract Procedures and Administration • Post-Contract Procedures and Admin, • Continue with the above actions into Contract, • Carry out interim site inspections, • Carry out inspections ensuring successful Client delivery, • Developing Client relationships with Project Managers, • Following the Clients’ QMS to ensure standardised delivery, • Carry out property inspections on completion, • Assist with the issue and agreement of Final Accounts/Statements, • Report writing and assisting in Contract Administration and Employers Agent roles, • Support and understand how different roles within the project team support the delivery of a project.
