About the Role You’ll work directly with an individual pupil with specific educational and behavioural needs, providing personalised support that’s consistent, compassionate, and effective. Working closely with teachers, the SENCo, and therapists, you’ll implement tailored strategies and celebrate every success — big or small. SEN Support Worker - Lancaster (Temp-to-perm) Location: LA2 Contract: Full-time / Part-time / Temporary / Permanent Salary: 13.75 - 14 Start Date: 5th January We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated SEN Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to children and young people with Special Educational Needs 10-17, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities: Assist with individual learning plans, behaviour plans, and EHCP targets. Support pupils during classroom activities, transitions, and break times. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to ensure consistent, effective support. Promote independence, positive behaviour, and emotional wellbeing. Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reviews. Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. Requirements: Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school, care, community or personal setting). A calm, patient, and empathetic approach. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow support strategies and adapt to individual needs. Understanding of safeguarding and the importance of confidentiality.
