Stores Operations Supervisor Based out of Greenford OR Loudwater Protecting What Matters. Powering the Future of Naval Technology. They are seeking a Stores Operations Supervisor to lead and optimise stores and inventory operations across three sites, ensuring operational excellence, safety, and team performance. The Role As Stores Operations Supervisor, you will provide hands-on leadership and operational oversight across multiple locations. You will ensure consistent standards, stock integrity, and process excellence while driving a high-performing, psychologically safe team culture aligned with their values. Key Responsibilities Leadership & People Management • Provide daily supervision, coaching, and support to two Stores Leads and their teams across three sites., • Drive consistent standards, behaviours, and accountability in line with company values., • Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of stores personnel, including 1-2-1s and Performance Development Reviews (PDRs)., • Foster a culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement. Operational Oversight & Inventory Control • Oversee goods-in/out, material handling, storage, stock accuracy, and production delivery aligned to programme milestones., • Coordinate workload and resource allocation between sites., • Monitor equipment availability and escalate maintenance requirements., • Ensure accurate stock control, cycle counting, discrepancy investigation, and timely ERP transactions., • Collaborate with the Logistics Materials & Planning Manager to resolve supply challenges. Operational Optimisation • Identify inefficiencies, delays, and waste within logistics, warehousing, and inventory processes., • Implement Lean standards, consistent working practices, and SOP compliance across all sites., • Support transformation and continuous improvement initiatives. Health, Safety & Compliance • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies, manual handling requirements, and site safety standards., • Support incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions., • Champion a strong, proactive safety culture. Communication & Reporting • Provide regular operational updates, highlighting risks, shortages, and improvement opportunities., • Ensure effective cross-functional communication between stores, production, planning, and operations. Key Performance Indicators • Stock accuracy and integrity, • Daily operational delivery, • SOP and safety compliance, • Productivity and efficiency, • Team engagement and performance, • Reduction in errors, delays, and material shortages Qualifications & Skills • Strong leadership capability with the ability to coach, develop, and influence others, • Excellent organisational and coordination skills with strong attention to detail, • Strong knowledge of data management and analysis, • Solid understanding of stores, warehousing, logistics, and inventory practices, • Experience using ERP/MRP/PMRP systems and reporting tools, • Advanced Excel capability, • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset Experience Requirements • Previous supervisory experience in stores, warehousing, logistics, or materials handling, • Experience managing or coordinating teams across multiple locations (preferred), • Strong understanding of stock control systems and processes, • Demonstrated ability to deliver consistent performance through others Education: • High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 3+ years of related experience, • Bachelor's Degree preferred, • 6 months' assembly experience preferred Security Requirements This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance as a minimum. Some roles may require further national security vetting. In line with Baseline Security requirements, candidates must provide evidence of identity, right to work in the UK, and employment/education history (up to three years).
