    As a Class 4 & 7 MOT Tester, you will be responsible for carrying out MOT tests to the required DVSA standards, identifying any defects and ensuring vehicles meet the necessary safety and roadworthiness requirements. The successful candidate will be confident working independently, have excellent attention to detail and take pride in delivering a professional service to both customers and colleagues. Key Responsibilities • Carry out Class 4 and Class 7 MOT tests in accordance with DVSA requirements., • Conduct MOT inspections accurately and efficiently., • Identify and clearly communicate vehicle defects and any work required., • Complete all MOT documentation and records accurately., • Maintain high standards of testing, safety and compliance., • Ensure the MOT bay, equipment and workshop are kept clean, safe and well maintained., • Carry out vehicle inspections and diagnostic checks where required., • Work alongside the workshop team to support vehicle servicing and repair requirements., • Provide professional and courteous customer service., • Keep up to date with changes to MOT testing procedures, legislation and DVSA requirements., • Follow all company health & safety procedures., • Help maintain the high standards and reputation of CPS Automotive. About You We are looking for someone who is: • A qualified and authorised MOT Tester for Class 4 & 7 vehicles., • Experienced in carrying out MOT tests to DVSA standards., • Mechanically competent with a good understanding of vehicle systems and components., • Reliable, punctual and professional., • Able to work independently and as part of a team., • Thorough and safety-conscious, with excellent attention to detail., • Confident communicating with customers and explaining technical issues clearly., • Comfortable working in a busy workshop environment., • Committed to maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service. Desirable • Previous experience working in an independent garage or busy workshop environment., • Relevant vehicle maintenance/repair qualifications such as IMI, City & Guilds or NVQ., • Diagnostic experience., • Experience working on commercial vehicles and larger vans., • A full UK driving licence.     About the Role We are seeking a reliable, passionate, and hardworking Chef to join our kitchen team in a busy, friendly pub environment. Working under the direction of the Head Chef, you will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality food while ensuring compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations. The successful candidate will be organised, able to work under pressure, and committed to maintaining excellent standards throughout service. Key Responsibilities ● Prepare, cook, and present food in accordance with company specifications and standards. ● Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. ● Ensure all food is stored, handled, prepared, and served in compliance with current Food Safety Regulations. ● Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas. ● Follow all Health and Safety at Work Act requirements and company policies. ● Complete daily cleaning schedules and kitchen records as required. ● Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Head Chef. ● Assist with stock rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures. ● Ensure correct food temperature checks are carried out and recorded. ● Minimise food waste and contribute to cost control measures. ● Report equipment faults, hazards, accidents, and near misses immediately. ● Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver excellent customer service. ● Assist with deliveries and ensure goods are checked and stored correctly. ● Support menu development and specials where appropriate. Health & Safety Responsibilities The post holder must: ● Comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. ● Follow all company risk assessments, safe systems of work, and kitchen procedures. ● Wear appropriate PPE and protective clothing as required. ● Maintain safe manual handling practices. ● Ensure walkways, fire exits, and emergency equipment remain unobstructed. ● Follow allergen management procedures in line with current UK legislation. ● Adhere to COSHH requirements when using cleaning chemicals. ● Participate in health and safety training and food hygiene training as required. ● Report all accidents, incidents, hazards, and defective equipment immediately. Essential Requirements ● Previous experience working in a professional kitchen. ● Good knowledge of food hygiene and food safety practices. ● Ability to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. ● Strong organisational and time-management skills. ● Ability to work effectively as part of a team. ● Good communication skills. Desirable Qualifications ● Level 3 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate. ● Knowledge of allergen legislation. ● Experience working in a pub, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
