HR Assistant \n Portsmouth Naval Base \n I'm currently recruiting for an organised and proactive HR Assistant to join a busy HR team based at Portsmouth Naval Base. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who is looking to build on their HR experience within a fast-paced, multi-site environment. \n This role is heavily focused on HR administration, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the HR function and ensuring employee records, systems, and processes are maintained accurately and efficiently. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Provide day-to-day administrative support to HR Advisors across multiple locations.\n, • Maintain employee records, personnel files, and HR systems, ensuring accuracy and GDPR compliance.\n, • Prepare and issue employment contracts, offer letters, onboarding packs, and other HR documentation.\n, • Support onboarding and offboarding activities to deliver a seamless employee experience.\n, • Manage HR databases and ensure all employee information is up to date.\n, • Produce regular and ad hoc HR reports, including headcount, absence, and turnover data.\n, • Monitor key HR deadlines, tracking employee lifecycle activities and ensuring actions are completed on time.\n, • Manage the HR inbox and respond to employee queries in a professional and timely manner.\n, • Support recruitment administration, including interview coordination, candidate communication, offer preparation, and pre-employment checks.\n, • Prepare documentation for employee relations processes, including absence management, disciplinary, and grievance cases.\n, • Take notes during meetings where required and ensure all documentation is stored appropriately.\n, • Organise meetings, training sessions, and HR-related events.\n, • Assist with HR projects and process improvement initiatives.\n\n About You \n We're looking for someone who thrives in an administration-focused environment and takes pride in delivering a high-quality service. \n Essential Skills & Experience: \n\n • Previous experience within an HR Administration, HR Assistant, or administrative support role.\n, • Excellent organisational and time management skills.\n, • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.\n, • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.\n, • Strong written and verbal communication skills.\n, • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.\n, • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.\n\n Desirable: \n\n • Experience working within a multi-site organisation.\n, • Familiarity with HR systems or HRIS platforms.\n, • Understanding of HR processes and employment legislation.\n\n Why Apply? \n This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive HR team where you'll gain exposure to the full employee lifecycle while playing a vital role in ensuring HR operations run smoothly.
