Project Engineer - Onshore Wind\nContract until end of 2026 | Potential Extension\nRate: Up to £650/day DOE\nIR35: Inside IR35\nLocation: Hybrid working with a base office in Edinburgh, Durham, Cardiff, London or Dublin\nHours: 37 hours per week\n\nAre you an experienced Project Engineer with a passion for renewable energy and large-scale infrastructure delivery? This is an opportunity to join a leading clean energy developer delivering a significant portfolio of onshore wind projects across Great Britain and Ireland.\n\nWorking on projects ranging from 30MW to 200MW, you will play a key role throughout the full project lifecycle - from early-stage development and Financial Investment Decision (FID) through to construction, commissioning and handover into operations. You'll be joining a collaborative engineering environment where you'll oversee multiple projects simultaneously at varying stages of maturity.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and technically strong engineer who enjoys working across multidisciplinary teams and driving projects forward in a fast-paced renewable energy environment.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Project Engineer, you will act as the engineering focal point across a portfolio of onshore wind projects, ensuring safe, efficient and technically robust delivery throughout the lifecycle of each scheme.\n\nKey responsibilities will include:\n\nEstablishing and coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering teams\nLeading the development of designs, technical specifications and engineering solutions\nManaging engineering risks, assumptions and opportunities\nEnsuring projects meet programme, safety, environmental and quality requirements\nReviewing contractor designs, technical submissions and installations\nSupporting CDM responsibilities, including acting as Principal Designer where required\nRepresenting engineering within project meetings, technical reviews and stakeholder presentations\nWorking closely with turbine suppliers, contractors, grid operators and consultants\nCollaborating with internal teams including construction, procurement, commercial, planning and asset operations\nDriving consistency and continuous improvement across engineering delivery processes and templatesThe role is primarily hybrid-based, with infrequent travel expected for site visits, inspections, factory acceptance tests and commissioning support (typically around once per month).\n\nAbout You\n\nWe're keen to speak with experienced Project Engineers who have delivered complex, high-value infrastructure or energy projects within a multidisciplinary environment.\n\nYou should ideally have:\n\nProven experience delivering large-scale engineering or construction projects from development through delivery\nStrong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering integration\nExperience working within highly regulated or safety-conscious environments\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills\nAbility to manage competing priorities across multiple projects\nA relevant engineering degree (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or similar)\nChartered status or working towards professional accreditation is desirable\nProject Management qualifications or experience would be advantageous\nCDM knowledge along with IOSH or NEBOSH certification would be beneficial\nStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office packages\nFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally as requiredPrevious onshore wind experience within Great Britain or Ireland would be highly advantageous, although candidates from other relevant sectors and infrastructure environments will also be considered.\n\nWhy Apply?\n\nThis is an opportunity to contribute to major renewable energy developments that will play a significant role in the transition to a low-carbon future.
