This is a critical part of the work we do is the daily upkeep of the rail network.As a technician youll work outdoors in a team, supporting essential maintenance to keep the railway running safely and smoothly for passengers and freight users.Our technician community comes from a variety of different backgrounds, and this might be the first time that youve even considered a career in rail. You could be involved in demanding manual work, often with the need to transport kit, across tricky terrain. Being safety focused, respectful of rules and a team player will be critical as youll often be working next to moving trains travelling at highspeed.Welding & Grinding You will be part of a team of welders & grinders, supporting the track organisation in our Maintenance teams by joining rails using various techniques and supporting the track maintenance function in our Maintenance teams for the maintenance of S&C, assets, prolonging asset life and reliability.You will develop a sought-after professional skill and have career progression opportunities.You will ideally have:Effective communicator Youll need strong communication skills and be able to deliver clear instructions to the team and other colleagues.Technical skills Youll have knowledge and experience of welding & grinding inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques in the discipline that you are applying for.Safety You consistently role model safe behaviours, can arrange and implement safe systems of work, and are confident to challenge if you think a situation is unsafe.Problem solver Youll be persistent in finding safe and effective solutions. Safe Spaces Survivor Advocate Salary: £24,956 per annum rising to £25,350 per annum on successful completion of probation, and £26,925 after successful completion of ISVA accreditation. Hours: 37.5 hours per week (09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday) Holiday: 25 days annual holiday entitlement increasing to 30 days after 5 years' service per annum plus bank holidays Base: Fully Remote Contract: Permanent About the Role Safe Spaces is a free and independent support service, providing a confidential, personal, and safe space for anyone who has been abused by someone in the Church or as a result of their relationship with the Church of England, the Catholic Church in England and Wales or the Church in Wales. The Survivor Advocate will work pro-actively to risk assess and support client needs and develop a comprehensive support plan to help keep victims safe. This role will use advocacy and partnership working skills to ensure victims are supported throughout any internal church processes or criminal justice processes. The post holder will manage a busy caseload and have excellent partnership skills and an understanding of Adult and Vulnerable people Safeguarding procedures.
