Job Description Role overview FRP's growing Financial Advisory team in Bristol is looking for a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) to join their team from either an advisory or transaction services background. The successful candidate will work on a wide range of assignments spanning pre-lending reviews, financial due diligence reports and independent business reviews. These assignments include working with lenders, investors and management teams to undertake financial and commercial analysis on businesses in the lower mid-market across the corporate life cycle. Key Responsibilities • Assist in the preparation of buy-side financial due diligence reports, • Analyse and report on management accounts, key financial information and the business environment, • Identify and comment on unusual trends or variances and suggest potential causes, • Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ business operations, financial health, and strategic positioning, • Sensitise financial forecasts for key business risks, with reference to potential mitigants, • Develop detailed IBR reports outlining findings, risks, and recommendations, • Present IBR findings to stakeholders, including lenders, management teams and investors, to support informed decision-making, • Collaborate with clients to implement recommended actions and monitor progress, • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and objectives, • Provide high-quality, tailored advice and support throughout the transaction process, • Work alongside the existing team to deliver integrated solutions, • Promote continuous learning and professional development within the team, • Work closely with Partners on engagements Qualifications • Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualified), • Strong professional exam performance, • Proficiency with Excel, strong core maths skills, • Awareness of debt structures and bank facilities available to SMEs in the UK, • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, • Clear understanding of how operational issues can impact finances, and vice-versa, such as how operational issues can impact profit and loss and cashflow differently, and how working capital fluctuations impact cash, • Ability to develop and analyse sometimes incomplete financial information, • Strong communicator with attention to detail, • Adaptable and resilient, with a proactive approach to challenges, • Committed to delivering exceptional client service and achieving operational excellence Additional Information Our Values • Straightforward: We provide clear, no-nonsense advice, • Confident: Our guidance is backed by expertise and evidence, • Pragmatic: We focus on practical solutions and tangible outcomes, • Real: We are professional yet approachable, understanding the challenges our clients face Our Commitment to You and the Environment At FRP Advisory Group, sustainability is integral to our strategy and operations.
