Finance Operations Manager – South East Region Location: Colchester (Hybrid working) Contract: 3 months (Inside IR35, via umbrella) Day Rate: £450- £500 per day Reports to: Regional Head of Finance Role Purpose An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a leading materials and manufacturing business in the Southeast region. The role sits within the regional finance team and is transactional, process-focused, and Excel/IT-driven, supporting accurate month-end reporting, financial modelling, and process improvement across the business. This hybrid position is ideal for a hands-on finance professional with strong analytical and technical skills who thrives in an operational finance environment and enjoys turning transactional data into actionable insights. Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end transactional finance activities, ensuring accurate and timely month-end close. Prepare and maintain advanced Excel-based reports, dashboards, and financial models to support regional performance analysis. Drive process improvement initiatives, identifying efficiency gains and implementing best practice procedures. Support IT-enabled finance projects, including system enhancements, automation, and reporting tools. Monitor, reconcile, and report on key financial data across the business, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Analyse transactional data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement. Ensure compliance with internal controls, finance policies, and regulatory requirements. Candidate Profile Experienced Finance Manager with a focus on transactional accounting, month-end close, reporting, and process improvement. Advanced Excel skills including formulae, pivot tables, macros, and model building. Strong IT literacy and comfortable using finance systems and data analysis tools. Process-oriented with the ability to identify and implement efficiency improvements. Analytical and detail-focused, able to interpret and communicate complex financial information clearly. Qualified Accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) or QBE with demonstrable relevant experience in manufacturing, construction materials, or similar sectors.
