Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives on supporting managers, resolving complex people matters, and improving the employee experience? We are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable People Manager to join a manufacturing business playing a key role in shaping a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture. In this role, you'll provide expert support across the full employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on employee relations, coaching managers, and enhancing people processes. You’ll work closely with the Head of People and wider team to drive continuous improvement, ensure legal compliance, and build effective, people-focused HR practices. Responsibilities: • Provide timely, expert advice on disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, and conflict matters, • Coach managers to confidently handle people issues and apply HR policies consistently, • Track absence trends and support strategies to improve attendance, • Review, update, and implement HR policies in line with legislation and best practice, • Support policy rollouts and ensure clear communication, • Partner with leaders to forecast workforce needs, advising on resourcing priorities and talent attraction strategies, • Support learning and development data, tracking, and compliance, • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure GDPR and employment law compliance, • Support contract preparation, onboarding documentation, and audits, • Work closely with the People team and wider stakeholders, • Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and templates, • Promote a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous learning About you • Experienced in a People Manager or similar UK HR role, • Strong expertise in employee relations and UK employment law, • Skilled in problem-solving and applying HR practice to real business situations, • Credible, influential, and confident working with stakeholders at all levels, • Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities, • Empathetic, collaborative, and committed to delivering an exceptional employee experience, • Background in manufacturing, retail, or people-centric environments is advantageous If you’re passionate about people, thrive in a collaborative environment, and want to help shape a supportive and effective workplace, we’d love to hear from you.
