Occupational Therapist - SEN/SEMH Schools Trust, BasingstokeBasingstoke, HampshireSeptember start - Full-timeSalary - Competitive, dependent on experienceAcademics are seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join a successful team, supporting a trust of SEN/SEMH schools across Basingstoke. This is an exciting opportunity to work with primary and secondary-aged pupils who have a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH).As part of a multidisciplinary approach, you will play a vital role in helping children and young people develop the skills they need to thrive in school, at home, and within their communities.The suitable Occupational Therapist will be working across a number of schools within the trust, you will: \n • Assess pupils' sensory processing, motor skills, functional abilities and participation in school activities. \n • Develop and implement individualised intervention programmes. \n • Support children with autism, SEMH needs and complex behavioural presentations. \n • Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, parents and external professionals. \n • Provide practical strategies and training to school staff to support pupils in the classroom. \n • Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), reports and annual reviews where appropriate. \n • Promote inclusive practice and enable pupils to achieve their full potential. \n The successful Occupational Therapist will be someone who is: \n • HCPC-registered as an Occupational Therapist. \n • Passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people. \n • Experienced in paediatrics, education or working with children with autism, SEMH and/or challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential). \n • Confident working independently while also enjoying being part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. \n • An excellent communicator with strong assessment and report-writing skills. \n • Flexible, organised and committed to delivering high-quality, child-centred care. \n If you are an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist looking for a rewarding opportunity to support children with autism, SEMH needs and complex behaviours across a thriving trust of SEN/SEMH schools in Basingstoke, we would love to hear from you.
