We’re now looking for an ambitious and proactive Production Supervisor (Kitchen Operations) to join us at an exciting stage of our journey. Salary: £32,000-£34,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus two annual bonus opportunities of up to 5% each Contract: Permanent, full-time Location: Planthood, Units D10-D11, Leyton Business Centre, Argall Avenue, London, E10 7QP Work location: On-site The Role Our Kitchen team is a crucial part of what makes Planthood different. It’s where our chefs prepare the sauces, garnishes and other chef-made components that go into our meal kits and bring our dishes to life. As one of three Production Supervisors in Kitchen Operations, you’ll lead our team of chefs and Kitchen Porters while working closely with your fellow Supervisors, other department leaders and our Production Managers. You’ll be an important part of a wider management team where we share ideas, solve problems, support each other and get things done together. This is a hands-on role, combining leadership on the production floor with the opportunity to make a wider impact. As Planthood grows, we want you to bring ideas, spot opportunities and drive improvements, while we support your own development and progression within the business. What You’ll Be Doing • Run great production days: Work with your fellow Supervisors to organise the team, set priorities and keep food preparation and cooking running smoothly against the production plan., • Lead and develop the team: Coach, support and motivate our chefs and Kitchen Porters, creating a great working environment with clear expectations and high standards., • Maintain quality and food safety: Make sure our chef-made components are consistently delicious and produced safely, accurately and to specification, maintaining high standards of hygiene, allergen controls and HACCP., • Keep performance on track: Stay on top of production flow, timings and productivity, stepping in to solve problems and keep the day moving., • Improve how we work: Spot inefficiencies and recurring issues, bring forward practical ideas and turn agreed improvements into action., • Work as one Production team: Collaborate with other Supervisors, department leaders and Production Managers to solve problems and deliver the wider production plan. About You You might already be supervising a production kitchen, or you could be an experienced chef ready to take the next step into a broader leadership role. Most importantly, you love good food and take real pride in producing it to a high standard. You’ll bring: • Strong professional cooking experience at Chef de Partie level or above, with the confidence to be hands-on in the kitchen when needed, • Experience leading, coaching or motivating others in a professional kitchen or food production environment, • Strong organisation and the ability to stay calm and make decisions during a busy production day, • A good understanding of cooking at volume, including recipe scaling and yields, • High standards for food quality, hygiene and food safety, with a good understanding of allergens and HACCP, • Plenty of initiative, with a natural instinct to solve problems and find better ways of working, • Confidence using digital tools and keeping accurate production records, • A collaborative approach and the ambition to grow with the role and with Planthood Experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen, central production kitchen, catering operation or food manufacturing environment would be particularly valuable. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has excellent dog handling skills, thrives working independently, and takes pride in providing exceptional care and customer service. ABOUT THE ROLE You will be responsible for providing professional dog walking and pet sitting services for our clients across London. Dog walks involve collecting dogs on foot and walking between 1-4 dogs at a time for up to 3 hours. Some dogs are exercised on lead, while others are walked off lead. Pet sitting assignments may include daytime visits, overnight stays and weekend bookings in clients' homes. As our services are based around our clients' schedules, applicants must be available Monday-Friday between 7am-4pm. Occasional evening, weekend and overnight pet sitting assignments may also be available. AREAS WE COVER Your main working area: Finsbury Park, Islington, Hampstead, Tufnell Park You may also occasionally work in: Camden, Regent's Park, Paddington, Notting Hill, Chiswick, Hammersmith, Walthamstow HOURS Up to 20 hours a week PAY Dog walking: £13 per hour/ completed walk (not per dog) Paid monthly upon receipt of a valid invoice Pet sitting: 1-3 hours: £13 per hour 4+ hours or overnight sitting: £40 per day/night ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Applicants must: -Be aged 21 or over -Have professional dog handling experience -Be confident walking dogs both on and off lead -Have experience working with dogs of different breeds, sizes and temperaments -Be physically fit and capable of walking for up to 3 hours -Be self-employed (or willing to register as self-employed) -Be able to commit to a minimum of 6 months -Be available Monday-Friday between 7am and 4pm -Be available for occasional evenings, weekends and overnight pet sitting -Be a non-smoker -Be an iPhone user with sufficient mobile data -Have excellent communication, customer service and problem-solving skills -Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS The following must be obtained during the trial period (at the applicant's expense): -Proof of identity and right to work in the UK -DBS check -Public Liability Insurance TRIAL ASSESSMENT Successful applicants will complete a 1-month trial period. During the trial you will be assessed on your ability to: -Independently walk up to 3 dogs together, both on and off lead -Safely handle dogs of different breeds, sizes and temperaments -Walk for up to 3 hours at a time -Manage dog behaviour and interactions confidently -Clean and dry dogs after walks where required -Feed and care for pets -Use GPS tracking and mobile applications to provide live client updates -Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service and professionalism PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Please note that experience gained solely from caring for your own pets, or pets belonging to family or friends, will not be considered professional experience.
