About the Role We’re recruiting motivated individuals to join our established programme, designed to develop the next generation of rail professionals. This is a unique opportunity within the Rail sector, combining hands-on experience with structured training and dedicated mentorship. Upon successful completion, you could progress into roles such as Signalling & Telecoms Technician or Team Leader in Rail Engineering. With over 25 years of industry experience, Vital Human Resources works alongside all major Tier One rail companies in the UK, including Network Rail. What You’ll Be Doing During your trainee programme, you will: • Work alongside experienced S&T Engineers, • Gain hands-on experience in rail infrastructure, • Carry out installation and maintenance activities on-site, • Apply your learning in real-world environments Your formal training will be delivered by an approved provider and fully funded by us. • You’ll receive a minimum of 7 hours pay per day while attending training courses, • Supported by a dedicated Training Officer and ongoing mentorship, • Guided by your Line Manager to help shape your long-term career What We’re Looking For To succeed in this role, you should bring: • A genuine interest in a hands-on, trade-focused career, • Energy and enthusiasm for a fast-paced, ever-changing environment You’ll also need: • Strong practical skills and awareness of health & safety, • Flexibility to work shifts (days, nights, weekends) and outdoors in all weather conditions, • A proactive, “can-do” attitude with good problem-solving skills, • The ability to meet deadlines, • Excellent communication skills and a good sense of humour, • A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, • PTS holder (advantageous), • Rail experience (advantageous) What We Offer • Competitive hourly rate (based on a 35-hour week), • Overtime opportunities available, • Temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term career prospects, • Earn while you learn with clear progression routes Plus: Local projects – work close to home Weekly pay – consistent and reliable income Fully funded training with paid attendance (minimum 7 hours per day) Structured mentorship and career development Apply Now Ready to take the first step towards a rewarding career in rail?
