This full-time role offers the rewarding opportunity to provide tailored 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with diverse learning needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, and Speech & Language difficulties.The school is known for its dedicated SEND provisions and supportive leadership, creating a nurturing environment where support staff are empowered to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with additional needs.Key Responsibilities: Tailored Support: Provide personalised 1:1 or small-group assistance to help pupils access the curriculum. Inclusion: Adapt learning materials and activities to ensure they are accessible and engaging for all learners. EHCP Implementation: Assist in the delivery and monitoring of targets outlined in pupils' Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Wellbeing: Support pupils’ social, emotional, and physical needs, including de-escalation and positive behaviour management. Collaboration: Work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and external professionals like speech therapists.The Ideal Candidate Will: Have previous experience supporting children with SEND in a school or care setting. Demonstrate a patient, empathetic, and proactive approach. Be confident in managing challenging behaviours with a calm and resilient attitude. Have knowledge of specific SEND conditions or relevant training (e.G., Makaton, PECS, or Team-Teach).
