What This Role Is Here To Do (Role Purpose) This role is all about bringing people together and making games unforgettable. As a Games Host, you’ll be the personality that gets groups excited, explains the rules with clarity and charm, and keeps the energy high throughout. You’ll ensure that every guest feels comfortable, included, and entertained, while also confidently handling the practical side, from troubleshooting small tech issues to coordinating food and drinks for the group. Your confidence, warmth, and likeability will set the tone for each event. Offensive to no one, charming to all — you’ll make sure every guest leaves with a smile and a story to tell. Where This Role Can Take You With experience and development, this role could grow into: · Events Coordinator · Duty Manager Our Way of Working This role is delivered with care, curiosity, and integrity, in line with our Poolhouse values: Experience Obsessed | Take Care | Seek Excellence | Integrity | Elite Sports Team Mentality Key Responsibilities Greet guests warmly and guide them through the Poolhouse experience Take food and drink orders with accuracy, efficiency, and style Make recommendations confidently and upsell where appropriate Ensure prompt delivery of items and check back at the right moments Clear and reset tables with speed and attention to hygiene standards Operate POS and handheld ordering devices with ease Keep your section clean, tidy, and guest-ready at all times Communicate clearly with the kitchen, bar, and floor teams Be proactive in solving guest queries or issues with a calm, can-do attitude Support team members during busy periods or shift changes Help create a relaxed, upbeat environment through pace, positivity, and professionalism Skills, Knowledge and Expertise · Welcome groups warmly, register teams, and explain game rules clearly and engagingly. · Host and facilitate events, ensuring everyone feels included and enjoys themselves. · Troubleshoot small tech issues quickly and calmly, keeping games running smoothly. · Coordinate food and drinks service for groups, working with the bar and kitchen teams. · Keep energy levels high and adapt your style to the mood of the group. · Monitor guest experience throughout, checking in to resolve issues before they become problems. · Support wider team goals by stepping in wherever needed.
