Main Duties - Undertake all duties and responsibilities in accordance with: company policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, standards; good professional practice,, CQC and other regulatory requirements, relevant legislations, all legal and contractual obligations. - Provide advice, information and support to the residents. - To support and provide care for the young people/children in the home by assisting them with; bathing, eating, homework, education, behaviour, money management, travel training etc. - Ensure resident’s follow the homes rules and support the manager in investigating and taking action where these may have been breached. - Manage challenging behaviour which may require physical intervention to appropriately support the child/ young person. - Oversee the maintenance of accurate client records and databases and provide statistics for management and to assist with service evaluation in a timely fashion. - Support clients with the prompting of their medication, conduct accurate and timely medication audits and maintain accurate medication records. - Complete written documentation (support plans, Medication sheets, risk assessments) regarding the young people/ children to help and ensure their safety and development within our setting. - Take part in regular team meetings to discuss the residents, the progress that they are making, how their general well-being is as well as forming action plans to support them further. - Attend professionals meetings (where appropriate). - Assist in the transfer of individuals between agencies and services. Health and Safety - To be familiar with Health and Safety Regulations, policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to within your own area of responsibility. - To be aware of and follow fire policies and procedures, ensuring safety of residents and workers safety and welfare at all times. ABBEYFIELD HOUSE SANDERSTEAD HAS A STAFF VACANCY THE ABBEYFIELD SOCIETY Abbeyfield houses are designed for the active elderly who no longer wish to live alone – you may already be aware of the House in Beechwood Road, Sanderstead. Residents are provided with supported accommodation and meals in a homely atmosphere, looked after by a resident Housekeeper. THE VACANCY We currently have a vacancy to join our team who provide cover for the housekeeper and cook when she is on leave or otherwise unavailable. For this reason it is not possible to be precise about the number of hours or dates that will be required but we will endeavour to give as much notice as possible. The work involves preparing, cooking and serving the lunch and evening meal and clearing away afterwards. Lunch is served at 12:30pm and the evening meal at 5:30pm. We have a well-equipped kitchen and will provide you with all the help you need to get started. The hours are negotiable around the timing of the meals, but are approximately 9:00am to 1:30pm (lunch) and 4:00pm to 6:30pm (evening meal). The job is paid at a rate above the national wage, the exact rate being negotiable. YOU!! No specific catering experience is required – just family cooking will be sufficient. We are looking for a friendly and helpful person able to interact with the residents and staff and who would occasionally be available at short notice. Some days may be at weekends.
