Redditch
Let's be real: Working in a SEND school isn't a "desk job." It's a high-energy, high-empathy, "expect the unexpected" kind of career. If you're tired of the mainstream grind and want to work where every small win feels like a cup final, keep reading. Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialized school team in Redditch. This isn't a 1-1 role where you're glued to one desk; this is a full-time, permanent opportunity to become an integral part of a specialist classroom "squad." The Reality of the Role • The Location: Redditch (Easily accessible and worth the travel for a specialist setting)., • The Pay:£90 - £100 per day., • The Environment: A dedicated SEND school. No mainstream distractions-just specialist equipment, smaller class sizes, and a team that "gets it.", • Floating Support: Moving between small groups to ensure everyone is on task, engaged, and regulated., • The "Sensory" Lead: Helping manage sensory circuits, "quiet zones," and outdoor learning breaks., • De-escalation Pro: Using your toolkit (Team-Teach, MAPA, or just plain intuition) to keep the classroom a calm, safe space., • The Mindset: You need to be proactive. In a SEND school, if you see a student struggling, you don't wait for instructions-you intervene with empathy., • The Experience: A background in SEND (ASC, ADHD, or SEMH) is huge. Whether it's from a school, care, or personal background, we value lived experience., • The "Paperwork": Level 2 or 3 TA qualifications are a bonus, but your resilience and reliability are what will make you a permanent fixture here., • No "Dead Ends": This is a Temp-to-Perm pathway. The school wants someone to stay, grow, and eventually join their permanent staff., • Level Up Your CV: Use our partnership with the National College to get certified in Autism Awareness, SEMH Support, and Positive Handling (for free).
