KS1 English Tutor \n \n Inspire a Love of Learning from the Start \n We're looking for a KS1 English Tutor to support young learners across Portsmouth, Southampton, and the surrounding Hampshire areas through personalised 1:1 tuition. \n Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll help primary-aged children develop their early literacy skills, confidence, and engagement with learning. Many of the pupils we support require a more tailored approach to education and benefit from consistent, positive support outside of a traditional classroom setting. \n This role is ideal for education professionals who enjoy working with younger children and making a meaningful impact during the early stages of their educational journey. \n\n • Location: Portsmouth, Southampton & Surrounding Areas\n, • Subject: KS1 English\n, • Start Date: September\n, • Hours: Flexible\n, • Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour\n, • Type: 1:1 Tuition\n\n \n Requirements \n\n • Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles\n, • Experience supporting KS1 pupils\n, • Strong understanding of early literacy and English development\n, • Ability to deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning activities\n, • Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable\n, • Patient, nurturing, and encouraging approach\n, • Strong communication and relationship-building skills\n, • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one\n, • Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across Portsmouth, Southampton, and surrounding areas\n\n \n Who You'll Support \n You'll work with primary-aged children who may have a range of needs, including: \n\n • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)\n, • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs\n, • ADHD\n, • Anxiety and school avoidance\n, • Speech, language, and communication needs\n, • EHCPs and additional learning needs\n\n Your support will help children build confidence in their reading, writing, phonics, and communication skills while fostering a positive attitude towards learning. \n \n Why Join Us? \n\n • Flexible working hours\n, • Competitive rates of £25-£30 per hour\n, • September start\n, • Opportunity to work on behalf of Local Authorities\n, • Long-term placements available\n, • Rewarding 1:1 support with young learners\n, • Make a lasting impact during a crucial stage of a child's education\n\n \n Interested? \n Apply
