They are now looking for someone who can bring confidence, structure, commercial awareness and positive leadership as the business continues to grow and evolve.This role would suit someone already working within accountancy practice at Director, Partner, Associate Director, Senior Manager or Practice Director level with strong people leadership skills, commercial understanding and the ability to build trusted relationships with business owners and professional contacts.This is an exciting opportunity to be highly visible across three offices, motivate and develop people through growth and change, identify efficiencies, strengthen client relationships and play a key role in shaping the future direction of the business.What the Accountancy Practice Director job involvesAs Director, you will take overall responsibility for the performance, development and continued growth of the firms North Yorkshire offices.You will be a visible and supportive leader across all sites, spending regular time with each team to provide guidance, create consistency, build confidence and support high standards across the practice.You will lead the teams through a period of growth and positive change, helping to improve ways of working, identify efficiencies and ensure clients continue to receive a high-quality, relationship-led service.You will be responsible for:Taking ownership of three North Yorkshire offices, ensuring strong performance, consistency and continued development.Providing visible leadership across the teams, spending regular time in each office and supporting managers and colleagues day to day.Leading, motivating and developing people through a period of growth, change and improvement.Reviewing current ways of working and identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies and client service.Supporting the delivery of high-quality accounts, tax, payroll, audit and advisory services.Building trusted, long-standing relationships with clients, understanding their businesses and supporting their ambitions.Providing clear, practical and commercially focused advice to business owners and senior decision makers.Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm to deliver a joined-up, professional and consistent service.Contributing to the strategic direction of the business and helping shape future growth across North Yorkshire.Taking an active role in networking and representing the firm within the local business community.Building and strengthening relationships with professional contacts, including solicitors, banks, land agents and other regional partners.Supporting sustainable, relationship-led business development across accounts, audit, payroll, tax and advisory services.Maintaining high professional standards and ensuring the teams continue to deliver a trusted, personal and commercially valuable service to clients.This is a varied and influential leadership role where accountancy practice knowledge, people leadership, commercial awareness, operational improvement, client care and professional standards are all key.Skills requiredYou will be a confident, commercially minded and experienced senior leader with a strong background in accountancy practice, professional services, finance leadership or business management.You may already be working as an Accountancy Practice Director, Partner, Associate Director, Senior Manager, Practice Manager, Practice Director, Accounts Director.Experience within accountancy practice, particularly if you have worked closely with owner-managed businesses and have an understanding of accounts, tax, payroll, audit and advisory services.You will need to be comfortable taking ownership, making decisions, challenging current processes where needed and bringing people with you in a positive and motivational way.The successful person will be visible, approachable and hands-on when needed. You will be confident spending time across multiple offices, supporting teams, developing managers, improving ways of working and creating a clear sense of direction.You will also need strong communication skills, excellent relationship-building ability and a proactive approach to business development.
