Sales Manager - Independents Do you have a track record of growing sales with independent retailers? Are you motivated by a field-based, remote role where you can make an impact across the UK? Can you spot opportunities and turn them into measurable results? MacGregor Black are partnering with a Consumer Goods Business on the search for a Sales Manager - Independents. This is a permanent remote based role. As the Sales Manager, you will manage our independent channel, spending up to 60% of your time visiting UK independent retailers to build strong relationships and drive sales. When home-based, you’ll share insights with Sales and Marketing, report on store activity, and support the Senior Sales Manager with weekly sales forecasting and growth opportunities. Key Responsibilities • Drive sales growth across independent retailers, • Plan targeted visit cycles based on opportunity, • Record retailer discussions in CRM, ensuring core and new products are visible in-store and online, • Maintain brand standards through effective visual merchandising and correct POS, working with Marketing, • Identify new retail partners while developing and maximising performance of existing accounts, • Act as the main point of contact, resolving issues and unlocking growth opportunities, • Analyse market trends, consumer behaviour and competitor activity, sharing insights with relevant teams, • Organise and support retailer events, trade shows and consumer shows throughout the year, • Own independent promotional pricelists, using margin guidelines and initiative to drive sales, • Brief Marketing on presentations, toolkits and B2B emails, delivering these confidently to partners Commercial Reporting • Produce accurate sales forecasts (within 10%) and recommend actions to achieve or exceed budget Cross-Functional Collaboration • Work closely with Marketing to meet deadlines for NPD and POS assets, • Collaborate with Business Optimisation to support commercial goals What we’re looking for? • Proven field-based wholesale sales experience, ideally with independent retailers, • Strong journey planning and time management skills, • Willing to travel up to 60% of the week across the UK, including 5–10 weekends per year, • Full UK driving license, • Results-driven, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, • Confident in sales, negotiation and persuasion, • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, • Highly organised with excellent communication skills, • Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively across teams Competitive salary + benefits.
