Due to internal growth and a wealth of investment across the site, we are now looking to appoint a Controls Systems Manager to strengthen the engineering team and help drive the business forward. As Controls Systems Manager, you will: • Lead and manage all aspects of site control systems and automation., • Ensure PLCs, SCADA systems, and HMIs are effectively maintained and optimised., • Support ongoing site investment projects and play a key role in modernisation initiatives., • Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Technical teams to minimise downtime and improve plant reliability., • Drive continuous improvement in control systems to support operational excellence., • Manage external contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with site and industry standards. We’re looking for someone who has: • Proven experience working in a Controls/Automation role within manufacturing (food/FMCG experience is desirable)., • Strong knowledge of PLC programming and fault finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley, or similar)., • Experience leading projects and working with cross-functional teams., • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach., • The ability to manage contractors and liaise with suppliers effectively. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Leadhand to oversee daily operations within our team reporting to the shift Supervisor. The Lead Hand will play a crucial role in ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role and be able to motivate and guide team members effectively. Responsibilities • Supervise and coordinate the activities of team members to ensure productivity and adherence to safety standards., • Train new employees on operational procedures and best practices., • Monitor workflow and make adjustments as necessary to meet production goals., • Conduct regular inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations., • Assist in resolving any issues or conflicts that arise within the team., • Maintain accurate records of production metrics and report on performance to management., • Foster a collaborative team environment by promoting open communication and teamwork. Skills • Food Manufacturing experience is essential., • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate others., • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written., • Proven problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to challenges., • Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to the workplace., • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail., • Previous experience in a supervisory or lead role within a similar industry.
