The role: We are currently seeking full-time Study Skills Lecturers who will work in close collaboration with subject lecturers to develop and teach study skills within the curriculum across a range of HE programmes from Foundation to Masters’ Level as part of our BSU, UoS and OBU partnerships. This includes for example, improving English language and numeracy, organisational and presentation skills, digital literacy and basic IT skills, reading, writing and higher order research skills. Due to our delivery model, we require flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and at weekends. Please note this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Salford Business School is seeking a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our interdisciplinary research team working at the forefront of sustainable energy systems. The role: As Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will lead the development of an optimisation-based simulator to assess how grid-edge devices contribute to power grid flexibility. You will use advanced modelling and simulation tools such as PandaPower and OpenDSS to evaluate the impact of distributed energy resources on grid performance. Your responsibilities will include conducting simulations, analysing data, and supporting the pilot implementation of the project. You will also contribute to the wider impact of the research through publications, presentations, and engagement with stakeholders. The role involves site visits, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the opportunity to shape the direction of a strategically important research area. We hope you will bring: We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a closely related field, and a strong track record of high-quality research. You should have experience in distribution grid modelling and simulation, impact evaluation studies, and working with external research commissioners. You will need excellent programming skills (e.g. Python, MATLAB), and a solid understanding of grid codes, standards, and flexibility modelling. Admissions Manager - Salford We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Admissions Manager, preferably with a background in higher education to join our Central Admissions Team. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Admissions, you will be responsible for the direct line management of a team of Admissions Supervisors, and indirect management of wider team responsible for making decisions on undergraduate or postgraduate applications for a designated academic area.
