An established, market-leading organisation within the engineering and services sector is seeking an experienced Depot Manager to lead day-to-day operations. This is a senior operational leadership role with full accountability for people, performance, safety, customer delivery, and financial results. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, efficiency, and commercial performance while developing a high-performing depot team. Key Responsibilities: Take full responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the depot, ensuring all products and services are delivered to the highest quality standards. Lead and implement operational strategies to improve productivity, service levels, and overall depot performance. Manage depot staffing levels, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, sickness, and absence. Maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery. Oversee all customer site installations and service activities, ensuring work is planned, delivered, and signed off in line with operational and quality standards, with any post-delivery issues resolved promptly. Own and manage the depots Profit & Loss performance, controlling costs within budget and driving profitable delivery of products and services. Oversee all transport and logistics activities, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, health & safety standards, and operator licence requirements. Create a positive, motivated, and high-performance culture through effective leadership, coaching, and team development. Monitor, control, and optimise depot asset and inventory levels to ensure availability, utilisation, and accuracy. Investigate operational or delivery-related issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to improve efficiency and reliability. About You: Proven experience in a Depot Manager, Operations Manager, or Branch Manager role within a hire, engineering, logistics, or service-led environment. Strong people-management skills with experience leading and developing operational teams. Commercially astute, with demonstrable experience managing budgets and P&L responsibility. Strong knowledge of health & safety, transport compliance, and operational best practice. Customer-focused, with the ability to balance service delivery and commercial performance.
