As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will play an integral role within the care home, working as part of a small domestic team. Your role is key in ensuring the home is cleaned and maintained to very high standard in line with the cleaning schedules in order to ensure our residents live in an exceptional environment. Key Responsibilities: -To ensure that all areas of the care home are cleaned to a high standard in compliance with the specific cleaning guidelines and schedules and that they effectively meet the residents' and homes needs. -To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident's personal information at all times, including their right to privacy, dignity and choice. -To understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements that are relevant such as Health & Safety, COSHH, and all aspects of the Health & Social Care Act, to ensure a safe and efficient laundry service in the home. Understand and have an awareness of Infection Control. -To ensure all equipment used is in full, safe working order, promptly reporting any faults to both the Maintenance Person and the General Manager. -To check all areas of the home are supplied with adequate housekeeping items and inform the manager of any shortages. - always be alert and use your own initiative, spot clean any spillages as they occur. -To be an active and helpful member of the team, contribute to meeting, attend training sessions and ensure that the care home is a friendly and supportive working environment. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will have a high level of responsibility which will include managing and administering medication, reviewing and updating resident care plans, as well as mentoring less experienced staff, whilst leading by example as an integral part of the Care Team. Key Responsibilities: -To provide the highest level of personal care and attention to residents, following individual care plans carefully and ensuring that all contact is polite, friendly, warm and supportive. Understand and have an awareness of Infection Control -To liaise with other care professionals relating to the care needs of the residents. -To always be alert to residents physical and mental well being, immediately reporting any changes in a resident's condition to a senior person on duty, and to accurately maintain and update residents' records as required. -To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident's personal information at all times, this includes resident's behaviour and actions and any incidents that may occur in the course of day-to-day care. -Responsible for making and changing beds, tidying resident's rooms (with the resident's permission) undertaking light cleaning duties as needed and generally assisting in ensuring that the home is kept clean, pleasant and welcoming at all times. -Helping to serve meals and drinks at meal times and other times when required, taking care to present meals and refreshments in an appealing way, with polite and courteous service. To be understanding with residents who need assistance with eating and drinking and provide the appropriate level of support and help. You will be expected to work on a permanent rolling rota of three consecutive shifts on, followed by three consecutive shifts off with the following shift options: Full Time Days: 08:00-20:00 totalling to an average of 42 hours per week.
