Job Description: Primary School Supply Teacher Location: Exeter Job Type: Temporary / Daily Supply Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm We are seeking enthusiastic, adaptable, and dedicated Primary Supply Teachers to support a variety of schools across Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified teachers who value flexibility, enjoy working in diverse educational settings, and are passionate about making a positive difference in pupils' learning experiences. As a Supply Teacher, you will deliver pre-planned lessons, maintain a positive and productive classroom environment, and ensure pupils remain engaged throughout the school day. Successful candidates will be confident in adapting to new school environments, building positive relationships quickly, and supporting pupils with a range of educational and behavioural needs. Key Responsibilities • Deliver high-quality lessons in line with school planning and curriculum expectations, • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment, • Effectively manage classroom behaviour and promote positive pupil engagement, • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs and abilities of learners, • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs where required, • Build strong professional relationships with pupils, colleagues, and school leaders, • Follow all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour management guidelines, • Provide clear feedback and handover notes for the class teacher when necessary, • Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism when working across different schools and year groups Requirements • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Early Career Teacher (ECT), or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification, • Previous experience teaching within a Primary School setting, • Excellent classroom management and communication skills, • A professional, reliable, and flexible approach to work, • Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments and teaching assignments, • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one Desirable Skills and Experience • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or additional behavioural needs, • Training in behaviour management, de-escalation techniques, or trauma-informed practice, • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and inclusive teaching approaches What We Offer • Flexible supply opportunities to suit your availability and lifestyle, • Experience across a variety of mainstream and specialist educational settings, • Competitive daily rates of pay, • Ongoing support from a dedicated education recruitment consultant, • Access to short-term, long-term, and permanent career opportunities If you are a passionate and adaptable teacher looking for flexible work across Exeter, we would love to hear from you.
