About the Role \n We are looking for an experienced HR Consultant to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for the contract to be extended. \n Based at our busy manufacturing site in Coventry, this is a hands-on, site-based HR role working closely with managers, supervisors and employees across the organisation. \n You will provide practical HR advice and support across the full employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on employee relations, attendance, performance and supporting managers with day-to-day people matters. \n We are specifically looking for someone with previous HR experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment who understands the demands of working within a fast-paced, operational setting. \n This is a fully on-site position, so you'll be a visible and approachable HR presence across the manufacturing site. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers, supervisors and employees.\n, • Supporting ramp-up hiring requirements - interview support, chasing onboarding documents etc.\n, • Work closely with production and operational teams to provide practical HR support.\n, • Manage and support employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence matters.\n, • Advise managers on attendance, performance and conduct issues.\n, • Support managers through formal HR processes, ensuring company procedures and UK employment legislation are followed.\n, • Manage the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding through to probation, development and offboarding.\n, • Support workforce planning and recruitment activity across the manufacturing site.\n, • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.\n, • Support the implementation and review of HR policies and procedures.\n, • Assist with employee engagement, wellbeing and development initiatives.\n, • Monitor attendance and other relevant HR metrics, providing reports and insight to management.\n, • Build strong working relationships with employees and managers across all levels of the site.\n, • Ensure HR practices remain compliant with current UK employment legislation.\n, • Keep up to date with changes in employment law and HR best practice.\n, • Support wider HR projects and initiatives as required.\n\n About You \n You will be an experienced HR generalist who is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing or engineering environment. \n You will ideally have: \n\n • Previous experience in an HR Consultant, HR Advisor, HR Business Partner or similar generalist HR role.\n, • Previous HR experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential.\n, • Strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation and employee relations.\n, • Experience supporting disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management processes.\n, • Experience working directly with operational, production or shop-floor teams.\n, • The confidence to provide HR advice to managers at all levels.\n, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\n, • A practical, hands-on approach to HR.\n, • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.\n, • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider HR function.\n, • CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience is desirable.\n\n What We're Looking For \n This role would suit an HR professional who enjoys being on the shop floor rather than behind a desk and who understands the realities of supporting a manufacturing workforce. \n You'll need to be approachable, pragmatic and confident dealing with a wide range of employee and management issues. \n Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment is essential, and experience of working within a unionised environment would be advantageous. \n What We Offer \n\n • £40,000 per annum\n, • 6-month fixed-term contract\n, • Potential for the contract to be extended\n, • 33 days' annual leave, including bank holidays\n, • Full-time, fully site-based role in Coventry\n, • Opportunity to work within an established manufacturing environment\n, • Varied and hands-on HR responsibilities\n, • The opportunity to work closely with operational leadership and employees\n, • A role where you can make a genuine impact across the site\n\n If you're an experienced HR professional with a manufacturing or engineering background and you're looking for a hands-on, site-based HR opportunity in Coventry, we'd love to hear from you. \n INDH \n \n
