    Job Title: Practical Support Assistant (Student Support) Location: Hereford College Working Hours: Likely 9am-5pm, 3 days per week (potential to extend to Monday-Friday) Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Practical Support Assistant to provide hands-on assistance to a student in Hereford. This role is essential in helping the student manage day-to-day tasks and navigate their university environment with ease. You will play a key role in ensuring the student's physical comfort and supporting their educational journey. Key Responsibilities: Assist the student in tasks such as opening doors, carrying materials, and handling everyday objects (e.g., picking items up from the floor). Help with collecting and organising papers, documents, or course materials. Assist in ensuring that the student's workspace or study environment is comfortable and accessible. Offer practical support during lectures or other on-campus activities, ensuring the student can fully engage in their studies. Communicate regularly with the student to anticipate any additional support they may need during the day Act as a friendly and approachable point of contact Qualifications and Skills: Experience in providing practical support to individuals with mobility or physical challenges is desirable, though not required. Committed, patient, and attentive to the needs of others. Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to changing needs or environments. Punctual, dependable, and respectful of privacy and confidentiality. Work Schedule: Initial schedule is likely to be 9am-5pm, three days a week, with the possibility of extending to Monday through Friday depending on the student's needs and schedule role. Meet Our Client We’re seeking caring and dedicated individuals to join the care team of a sociable 40-year-old lady who is quadriplegic from a C1 spinal injury and fully ventilator-dependent. She lives with her loving parents who currently provide 24-hour care. Your role will be to provide gentle, respectful support with personal care, respiratory management, suctioning, medication, mobility, pressure relief, and monitoring throughout the day. She loves staying connected online and going out with her family. Maintaining her independence and close relationships means a lot to her.
