Step into a role where advanced simulation, parametric design, and environmental analysis directly shape high‑performance buildings and complex engineering projects. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of digital design, using industry‑leading CFD and building performance tools to influence key design decisions from early concept through detailed development.\n\nAbout the Role:\n\nYou will lead and support simulation and analysis workflows across a range of projects, delivering robust, data‑driven insight to design and engineering teams. Working in a hybrid environment, you will be responsible for setting up, running, and interpreting advanced CFD and building performance models, and translating results into clear, actionable recommendations. Your work will directly inform design optimisation, comfort and sustainability strategies, and compliance with performance targets.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nDevelop, set up, and run CFD simulations using ANSYS Fluent/CFX, OpenFOAM, and Star‑CCM+ for airflow, thermal, and related performance studies.\nBuild and manage building performance and energy models using Cadence DC, IES‑VE, and TAS to assess energy use, comfort, and environmental performance.\nCreate and maintain parametric geometry and analysis workflows in Rhino and Grasshopper, integrating Ladybug and Honeybee for climate‑based and daylight simulations.\nPost‑process and interpret simulation outputs, preparing clear visualisations, reports, and presentations for technical and non‑technical stakeholders.\nCollaborate closely with architects, engineers, and sustainability specialists to embed simulation insights into design decisions and project strategies.\nCalibrate models with available data, perform sensitivity analyses, and ensure robustness and quality control of all simulations.\nSupport the development and refinement of internal tools, templates, and best practices for CFD and building performance analysis.\nContribute to project meetings and design reviews, explaining complex simulation findings in concise, practical terms.\nKey Requirements:\n\nProven experience in CFD modelling with ANSYS Fluent and/or CFX, plus hands‑on use of OpenFOAM or Star‑CCM+ on real projects.\nStrong background in building performance or environmental modelling using tools such as IES‑VE, TAS, and/or Cadence DC.\nProficiency in Rhino and Grasshopper for geometry handling and parametric workflows.\nPractical experience using Ladybug and Honeybee for environmental, climate, and daylight analysis.\nAbility to manage multiple simulation tasks concurrently, from problem definition through to delivery of recommendations.\nStrong analytical, problem‑solving, and data interpretation skills, with attention to detail and model quality.\nClear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce concise technical reports and presentations.\nExperience working within multidisciplinary design or engineering teams.\nDesirable Skills:\n\nExperience automating workflows or scripting within Grasshopper or related environments.\nFamiliarity with additional simulation tools or plug‑ins for acoustics, comfort, or façade optimisation.\nExposure to sustainable design frameworks, building regulations, or green building rating systems.\nExperience mentoring junior team members or leading smaller work packages.\nQualifications:\n\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Computational Design, or a closely related discipline.\nPostgraduate qualification in CFD, building physics, environmental design, or similar field preferred for Senior Associate level.\nProfessional membership or working towards membership of a relevant institution (e.g. CIBSE, IMechE, ASHRAE) is an advantage.\nEvidence of continued professional development in simulation, building performance, or digital design tools.\nIf you are driven by rigorous analysis and want your simulation expertise to directly influence innovative, high‑performance designs, this role offers a strong platform to progress your career—apply now
