We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Consultant with a strong track record in data, analytics, cloud, and AI/ML domains. This role is primarily focused on new business acquisition, strategic account growth, and senior stakeholder engagement, rather than hands-on recruitment delivery. You will partner with technology-driven organisations undergoing significant digital transformation, opening new client accounts and identifying opportunities across data engineering, AI/ML, BI, cloud, and cybersecurity. This position is ideal for individuals with deep technology consulting fluency and strong commercial instincts, who can speak credibly with C-suite stakeholders and position our recruitment solutions as enablers of large-scale data and AI initiatives. Full sourcing and candidate delivery support will be provided by our dedicated Delivery Team. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Market Expansion • Drive all new business activity across data, cloud, analytics, and AI/ML markets, securing new logos and expanding market share across enterprise, mid-market, and scale-up clients., • Lead client outreach, capability presentations, and solution positioning to senior technology stakeholders (Heads of Data, Directors, CDOs, CTOs, Transformation Leads)., • Develop, manage, and systematically grow a high-value sales pipeline aligned to hiring needs in advanced analytics, cloud engineering, AI/ML, BI, and cybersecurity., • Translate client challenges and strategic objectives into tailored hiring programmes., • Develop proposal content, RFI/RFP responses, hiring roadmaps, market maps, and commercial structures for clients., • Collaborate with partners and vendors in cloud, data, and AI ecosystems to uncover new opportunities and deepen client penetration. Client Engagement & Account Development • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, understanding business drivers, technology roadmaps, and workforce planning needs., • Deliver consultative insights on talent availability, skill-set trends, salary benchmarks, and competitive challenges., • Drive account mining and expansion strategies, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities across multi-disciplinary technical verticals., • Ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication, expectation setting, and alignment with delivery output. Collaboration With Delivery Team • Partner closely with the internal Delivery Team, who will manage all candidate sourcing, screening, qualification, and pipeline management., • Provide the Delivery Team with clear role briefs, market intelligence, and prioritisation guidance to enable efficient candidate delivery., • Ensure alignment between business development outcomes and delivery capabilities, adjusting strategies based on market demand and available talent supply., • Review shortlisted candidates, participate in client briefings or feedback cycles when necessary, and ensure smooth end-to-end process without managing day-to-day resourcing personally. Market Presence & Thought Leadership • Maintain visibility across data, cloud, and AI/ML communities through LinkedIn engagement, thought leadership, and market participation., • Share data-driven insights with internal teams to influence vertical strategy and pipeline planning., • Track market movements, emerging technologies, and competitor activity to refine BD strategy. Who We’re Looking For We are targeting a Business Development Consultant who combines technology domain expertise, commercial acumen, and enterprise relationship management. You will be comfortable advising senior leaders on talent strategy and positioning recruitment solutions that support transformation programmes in data, cloud, and AI/ML. This is not a 360 recruitment role. Your focus will be on high-impact business development and strategic account expansion. Recruitment delivery support is fully managed by our Delivery Team. Requirements • 5+ years’ experience in technology-focused recruitment, consulting, or solution sales, ideally within data, cloud, analytics, or AI/ML., • Proven record of new-logo acquisition, pipeline development, and consistent revenue generation., • Strong understanding of digital transformation themes across data strategy, BI, AI/ML, cloud migration, and enterprise analytics., • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders (Directors, VPs, CDOs, CTOs, etc.) and influencing decision-making., • Strong consultative approach with the ability to translate technical requirements into commercial recruitment solutions., • Highly organised, target-driven, and capable of managing multiple BD pursuits simultaneously., • Resilient, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced sales environment., • Skilled communicator with ability to build long-term client relationships., • Familiarity with CRM systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, and modern sales tools., • Curiosity and willingness to stay up to date with emerging data/AI technologies and market shifts.
