EHS Advisor Location: Rugby Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract Duration: 3 Months Reports to: EHS Manager / Site Lead About the Company NRL are working with a leading engineering organisation with a strong reputation for innovation, precision, and quality. The company operates a busy workshop and manufacturing facility in Rugby, delivering engineered solutions across multiple sectors. Due to continued growth and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards, they are seeking an experienced EHS Advisor to join their site-based team. The Role As the EHS Advisor, you will be the on-site champion for Environment, Health & Safety standards across the workshop and manufacturing plant. This is a hands-on role where you’ll provide guidance, drive compliance, and foster a positive safety culture throughout the operation. Applicants must have a strong Manufacturing background and an in date NEBOSH to be considered for this role. Key Responsibilities Working with the EHS Lead develop, understand, and maintain the Clients project plan using the EHS management tools. Support EHS Leader to ensure required compliance activities aligned to in-country legislation such as DSEAR, LOLER, PUWER, COSHH regulations. Support Contractor Management across the site , processing permits to work considering aspects not limited to LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space, Lift Plans aligned to the Clients standards. Oversee day-to-day EHS activities across the workshop and production areas. Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring adherence to company and statutory requirements. Support incident investigations, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions. Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions to staff and contractors. Manage documentation including RAMS, COSHH assessments, permits to work, and safety records. Promote continuous improvement, working with supervisors and engineering teams to enhance safety processes. Ensure environmental compliance, including waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives. Act as a key point of contact for regulatory bodies, visitors, and internal stakeholders on all EHS matters.Requirements Previous experience in an EHS role within engineering, manufacturing, workshop, or industrial environments. Strong understanding of UK H&S legislation and best practice. Holds NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent. Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage at all levels. Preferred experience and knowledge of the risks involved in either/or mechanical machining, mechanical assembly/fitting and HV electrical works Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Job Role: • Ensures all Health & Safety policies are implemented and adhered to., • Comply with the company’s Inventory Policy, • Unloading & loading of goods into and out of the warehouse., • Receipt of goods & equipment into the warehouse., • Verify the received goods & equipment comply with the information of the purchase order and delivery note., • Coordinate the deliveries and transport with the different destinations, • Maintaining accurate stock locations and identification of parts., • Post all issue voucher requests & dispatch equipment / parts, • Performs stocktaking cycle counts to maintain stock level accuracy., • Labelling & tagging of equipment / parts, • Maintain good order and 5S in the warehouse, • General housekeeping of the warehouse, ensuring all loose and flammable packaging materials are removed and disposed of in an environmentally way., • Archiving delivery notes, electronic vouchers, • Managing warehouse inventory levels and stock replacement (MRP)., • Create purchase order to pay the material dispatch through the vending machines., • Responsible for identifying and disposing obsolete inventory, • Support main duties of the store during vacations, sick leaves, etc (Chasing PO, MRP, Purchasing requisitions etc), • Support with ongoing stores improvements projects (i.e. labelling, moving/consolidate items into a new storage area etc) Candidate Experience Required: • Inventory control, stock identification and location systems & product knowledge., • Experience of counterbalance fork lift and/or pallet stacker operation, or happy to be trained & use this equipment., • Understanding of ERP systems.
