Adnodd is a Welsh Government arm’s length body that leads and coordinates the provision of educational resources in both Welsh and English to support and inspire the teaching and learning of the Curriculum for Wales. We work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including practitioners, learners, educational bodies, Welsh Government, suppliers, and national and grass-roots organisations. Using evaluation and evidence, we demonstrate how our work supports the needs of learners and practitioners. From 2025 to 2028, our work will be guided by three strategic focus areas: literacy, equity and anti-racism, and wellbeing. These priorities reflect urgent national challenges and aim to address resource gaps and inequalities affecting learners and educators. Every commissioned resource will support one or more of these areas, ensuring meaningful impact across the Curriculum for Wales. By fostering collaboration and drawing on best practices, we will empower schools to create inclusive, confident, and resilient learning environments. Job Overview: As the Commissioning and Quality Officer, you will provide operational and administrative support to the commissioning and quality assurance team, supporting the implementation of strategies and plan to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality, bilingual, inclusive resources that support the teaching and learning of the Curriculum for Wales. You will work within a cross-functional team to support the planning and monitoring of commissioning and quality assurance projects, building and developing effective relationships with stakeholders. You will use your initiative to drive continuous improvement and ensure the smooth delivery of commissioning and quality assurance projects. Responsibilities: Commissioning and Quality Assurance • Support the delivery of multiple commissioning projects from planning through to execution and evaluation to secure timely, high-quality, bilingual resources and value for money., • Create and implement plans for commissioning and quality assurance workstreams, effectively managing and reporting on progress, costs and risks., • Help to implement and apply a rigorous quality assurance and approvals process to maintain high standards in all commissioned resources., • Ensure that commissioning documentation is up-to-date and of a high standard in terms of format and style. Stakeholder Engagement • Collaborate effectively with practitioners, content creators, and stakeholders to achieve Adnodd’s operational and strategic goals., • Respond to and resolve enquiries from suppliers, schools, learners, and parents providing high-quality customer service and engagement., • Plan and arrange meetings and workshops with a range of stakeholders to support the delivery of objectives. Operational support • Prepare reports, meeting notes and briefing papers for dissemination among internal and external stakeholders., • Ensure that accurate and current records are maintained in line with Adnodd’s systems and policies, • Suggest and develop ideas for improvement to Adnodd’s commissioning systems and processes, • Plan, organise and run regular meetings for internal stakeholders to discuss projects and objectives, • Identify, manage and report on operational risks associated with commissioning and quality assurance projects and processes, • Analyse data to support decision-making processes and to identify and prioritise needs, gaps, and opportunities based on operational and strategic goals., • Contribute to evidence-based decision-making and evaluation activities. Meeting the needs of current and future learners • Champion bilingualism, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and sustainability in all areas of work Person Specification: The ideal candidate for this role possesses the following qualifications and attributes: Experience: • Proven experience in administration, procurement, or related roles., • Ability to maintain and coordinate relationships with stakeholders., • Familiarity with the Curriculum for Wales and educational resource development, • Experience in project management is desirable Skills: • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder relationship skills, capable of working effectively in a team and with a diverse range of stakeholders., • Strong planning and organisational skills and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and tasks., • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and other related software Attributes: • Passion for education and commitment to bilingualism., • A good team player able to see and do what’s needed to achieve positive overall outcomes., • Highly motivated and able to work undirected, • Strong attention detail. Language Proficiency: • This role requires strong written and communication skills., • At least an intermediate level of Cymraeg (Welsh) is required for this role., • Adnodd is committed to support staff to further develop their Cymraeg skills and confidence.
