You’ll be trusted to play your part in delivering the advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions of tomorrow, shaping a safer future, for all of us.\n\nFrom the depths of the ocean, to the far reaches of space, there’s no limit to where a career at BAE Systems could take you.\n\nWhat you’ll be doing:\n\nManufacture and install high‑quality sheet metal components, including ventilation systems and internal fittings\n\nInterpret engineering drawings to measure, cut, shape and assemble materials using a range of hand and power tools\n\nProduce accurate, well‑finished work that meets required standards and quality expectations\n\nApply practical problem‑solving skills to resolve issues during manufacturing and installation, ensuring correct fit and safe completion\n\nWork collaboratively within a skilled team to maintain a safe environment and deliver reliable installations that keep projects on track\n\nEssential skills:\n\nYou will hold a recognised Modern Apprenticeship, Trade Papers, or SVQ/NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)\n\nIn this role, you’ll bring experience from construction, manufacturing, marine, or other practical engineering environments\n\nYou’ll be applying your understanding of SHE and COSHH requirements, following safe working practices and safety training\n\nWorking with engineering drawings, you’ll measure, cut, shape, and assemble components accurately and safely\n\nYou can demonstrate solid attention to detail, using your craftsmanship skills to deliver accurate, high-quality work\n\nThe Sheet Metal Worker Team:\n\nThe team delivers upgrades, refurbishments, and new installations across secure BAE Systems sites, working in groups of 6–12.
