SEN English Teacher Are you a dedicated SEN Teacher, keen to make a difference within specialist education, particularly English? A well-established Specialist Provision in Stoke-on-Trent are seeking an SEN Teacher to lead a small group of students with complex SEMH, ASC and other learning needs across English and other core subjects. Job Description: • Permanent, full-time Teaching position, • Nurturing SEMH School, • Work with students aged 5-18 with a range of needs: ASC, SEMH, other complex learning and mental health needs, • Small classes of max. 4-5 students (high staff/student ratios), • Trauma-informed practice, child-centred approach, • Oversee class Teaching Assistants to ensure all students can thrive within English and other subjects; plan and deliver lessons in English, plus a range of other nurture-style subjects., • Start date as soon as possible (happy to work around notice periods; the school are keen to have the right person, even if it means waiting until you are available). Person description: • QTS/QTLS desirable, with experience working in an SEND setting, • Child-centred approach to teaching - understands and implements trauma-informed practices, • Calm and patient demeanour, with strong classroom management skills, • Excellent behaviour management, adaptability to deal with unpredictable and unregulated behaviour This is a special opportunity to join a nurturing SEMH Provision in Stoke-on-Trent.
