The Budtender is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, educating customers on cannabis products, and ensuring a positive, compliant, and efficient dispensary experience. This role requires strong product knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain professionalism in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers, verify IDs, and assist them throughout their visit.
Provide knowledgeable product recommendations based on customer needs, preferences, and experience level.
Educate customers about different strains, edibles, concentrates, CBD/THC ratios, effects, and proper usage.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming sales floor and work area.
Process transactions accurately using the POS system and comply with all cash-handling procedures.
Stay updated on current cannabis laws, regulations, and dispensary policies.
Restock shelves, check inventory levels, and assist in receiving new product shipments.
Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations regarding cannabis sales and customer interactions.
Handle customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally.
Promote daily deals, loyalty programs, and new products.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in retail, customer service, or hospitality preferred.
Knowledge or interest in cannabis products and industry trends.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Must meet the legal age requirement to work in a cannabis dispensary (varies by state).
Basic math and POS system experience.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20–30 lbs when needed.
