Job Description Summary of Position The Human Resource Payroll Benefits Specialist provides administrative support for the Human Resource function as well as taking a lead role in payroll and benefits administration. In addition, the HR Specialist will provide support as needed with employee relations issues, investigations, and safety. The Human Resource Payroll & Benefits Specialist will also play a key role in supporting a work environment that supports being an employer of choice in the area. Essential Functions: • Weekly review of timesheets to ensure timely and accurate reporting of hours to be paid via the payroll system., • Ensure timely and accurate administration of employee garnishments confirming proper withholding and remittance to appropriate agencies., • Report, track, and analyze trends in direct/indirect FTE’s turnover and absenteeism., • Assist with onboarding, including review of all new hire forms to ensure completeness and ensure all I-9 documentation is uploaded., • Process Weekly and Semi-Monthly Payrolls., • Assist employees with Benefit Enrollment, including participation in New Employee Orientation., • Follow up on needed documentation (e.g., EOI forms, 401(k) Distribution Forms, etc.)., • Assist HR Director with Open Enrollment., • Audit Payroll to ensure accurate and timely benefit deductions for selected elections., • Support Payroll and Benefits audits as required., • Process all Long- and Short-Term Disability Claims in concert with FMLA and ADA claims., • Process all unemployment claims., • Complete hiring and/or termination of employees in payroll system and coordinate with other systems/departments., • Responsible for troubleshooting of time clock issues, including support of remote facilities., • Assist with annual 401(k) Audit., • Participate in and submit aggregate data for salary surveys, benefits surveys, etc. to all employer agencies in which we are members., • Field payroll and benefit related inquiries from employees., • Educate employees on benefit plans and how to maximize them., • Other task as assigned by Manager. Responsibility for Quality • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all payrolls., • To ensure all employees have a clear understanding of all benefits. Level of Authority • Question and/or Reject employee status change forms that are not properly completed or may be missing critical information (e.g., effective dates on offer don’t match effective date on offer letter)., • Document any violations of payroll policies/procedures and initiate disciplinary action against supervisors/managers who are not following policy., • Deny PTO/Diversity Holiday requests that do not follow policy., • Make payroll deductions (within the law) that are documented and signed off by employees. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent experience required., • Previous payroll and benefits experience, • iSolve HCM experience a plus, • CPP Certification a plus, • Experience within organizations with more than 100 employees on payroll., • Excellent Technical skills with specific MS Office skills, including document merging, development of user-friendly forms and PowerPoint., • Proven MS Excel abilities, including pivot tables, formulas, and macros., • Demonstrated experience working with and assisting employees with complex benefit programs., • Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail., • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, work independently, and follow through with deadlines., • Willingness and ability to adjust schedule to support off shifts as needed., • Willingness and ability to work on-site five days per week., • Demonstrated detailed orientation and drive to follow through to resolve issues., • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, • Proven organizational, verbal, and written communication skills., • Demonstrated resourcefulness with superior problem-solving skills.
