Job Description Mold Setter: • Plastic Mold Injection Experience, • Forklift and overhead crane experience, • $21+ Shifts: A Shift: 6:00AM - 12:15PM (Mon-Wed) and 6:00AM - 6:15PM (Thurs-Fri) OFF (Sat - Sun) B Shift: 12:00PM - 6:15PM (Mon-Wed) and 6:00AM - 6:15PM (Sat-Sun) OFF (Thurs - Fri) C Shift: 6:00PM - 12:15AM (Mon-Wed) and 6:00PM - 6:15AM (Thus-Fri) OFF (Sat - Sun) Summary of Position The Mold Setter/Process Technician is responsible for setting molds and starting presses with the established process. This position reports to the Shift Supervisor for daily assignments. Technical support and direction is provided by the Process Engineer. Essential Functions • Safety - Work in a safe manner, follow all safety policies and procedures, and alert the supervisor immediately about any safety issues in the facility., • Quality - Follow all processes and make recommendation for improvement to the supervisor., • Cost - Review mold set up and start up methodology for improvement and make recommendations to the supervisor., • Teamwork - Interact with other positions (supervisor, process engineer, material handler, operator, etc.) to ensure mold set ups, startups, and shutdowns are smooth and efficient., • Work with Shift Supervisor and Material Handler to ensure the understanding of the daily production schedule and what jobs need to be set in the Work Centers., • Verify Process Controls of existing presses running including but not limited to:, • Mold Temperature, • Barrel Temperature, • Cycle Time, • Material Moisture, • Checks if splay exists, • Checking Nozzle Leaks, • Set Molds & Start Jobs, • Pull mold from mold storage area, • Pull appropriate thermolators, DME units, eye bolts, hoses and hydraulic units for each mold set including any required fixtures or gages for quality assurance., • Review the Quality Book to ensure understanding of key issues regarding setting of specific mold, • Lock-out Press to ensure safety during mold installation., • When appropriate, work as a team with the other mold setter to set mold, • Follow mold setup work instructions and procedures., • Start Press, • Use process defined by Process Engineer and already loaded in the press., • Follow mold start-up work instructions and procedures., • Ensure 1st piece approved is obtained and operator hand-off is completed., • Job Shut Down, • Follow mold shut down work instructions and procedures., • Put Mold Away in proper location, • Other tasks assigned by Supervisor Responsibility for Quality • Responsible for ensuring that the quality/integrity of the mold is not compromised during the job setup process., • Ensure the dater is properly set each time a mold is set to ensure proper product traceability., • Responsible for adhering to the part process and machine process sheets during mold setting., • Responsible for checking material moisture content before job start-up., • Responsible for documenting any changes in process required to meet part quality standards (i.e., ensuring parts match first article)., • Responsible for notifying the Process Engineer regarding any and all changes in job setup process. Level of Authority • Shutdown any job that does not produce a quality part using given parameters established by the Process Engineer, • Stop mold installation if a there is a quality issue with the mold or mold installation presents a safety concern Qualifications • Three (3) to five (5) years of plastic injection mold processing experience, • Material Tech Experience preferred, • Capable of effective and cooperative interaction with employees and contractors at all levels of the organization., • Willingness to be flexible with work schedules and work overtime and weekends, with or without advanced notice., • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced organization handling multiple projects simultaneously.Company DescriptionBranex Group is a Minority-owned Technical Staffing firm headquartered in Auburn Hills, MI.
