Job Description The Opportunity: Behind every successful student is a passionate and dedicated team. As an Intervention Specialist at Journey Community Schools (JCS), you will provide small group instruction to students and assist teachers, school administrators, and other school personnel to determine research-based interventions to support assigned students with their academics. What You Will Do: * Provide small group instruction to students in Reading and Math * Monitor the fidelity of Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention program * Analyze student ongoing progress monitoring data to determine next steps * Monitor the progress of students and make adjustments to their intervention program * Facilitate monthly meetings with teachers and the administration team to discuss grade band progress * Facilitate monthly meetings with teachers and the administration team to discuss grade band progress * Determine research-based interventions * Provide observations and coaching to assist teachers and others implementing interventions with fidelity * Oversee data collection including universal screening and progress monitoring for Tier 2 and Tier 3 students * Perform other related duties as required and assigned What You Will Bring: * Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Knowledge of Tennessee State Standards and Assessments, • Knowledge of universal effective teaching practices Strong organization skills * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex data and perform analysis of qualitative and quantitative student data swiftly and accurately * Strong classroom management skills * Engaging and encouraging communication skills while interacting with principals, staff, students, etc. to exchange information * Ability to demonstrate effective instructional skills * Ability to demonstrate knowledge of research-based reading and mathematics instructional programs and strategies * Ability to demonstrate of JCS curricula, assessment, and instructional programs * Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the interpretation of assessment data * Engaging and encouraging communication skills while interacting with principals, staff, students, etc. to exchange information * Ability to develop data-supported solutions and using fact-based logic; ability to translate complex analysis in easy-to- understand manner and present to a broad audience * Ability to collaborate with colleagues and parents * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, environment * Ability to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed * Education Requirements: * Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field * Master’s Degree preferred * Licensure Requirements: * Valid teaching license with the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) or a valid teaching license and endorsement from a state that offers reciprocity with Tennessee in ELA or Math * Experience Requirements: * 3+ years of teaching * Experience working with K-8 students. particularly those reading two or more years behind grade-level * Proficiency with G Suite and assessment analysis tools Compensation Journey Community Schools offers its employees a competitive salary and benefits, including paid time off, small payroll contributions for rich benefit plans, life insurance/short-term and long-term disability, participation in a TN state retirement plan, tuition reimbursement plan, and adoption assistance program.
