Job Description Job Title: Senior Project Manager – Industrial Projects Job Description The Senior Project Manager leads and executes complex, large-scale construction and industrial projects while managing a team of professionals to deliver superior client service. This player/coach role combines hands-on project leadership with team development, business growth, and strategic client relationship management across a portfolio that includes ground-up, core and shell, interior renovation, manufacturing, aerospace, semiconductor, data center, and other industrial projects. Responsibilities • Lead the overall construction management strategy and execution for assigned projects, serving as the primary point of accountability from pre-construction through project closeout., • Oversee project implementation and execution through completion of construction, ensuring all scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met., • Manage ground-up development projects as well as major redevelopment and corporate interiors projects, including site work, core and shell, and interior renovation., • Direct pre-construction activities such as programming, design coordination, entitlements, bidding, permitting, consultant selection, design team selection, schedule creation, contractor selection, and vendor selection., • Negotiate contracts with architects, contractors, consultants, and vendors, ensuring favorable terms and alignment with project and client objectives., • Provide an appropriate level of on-site supervision to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure project performance criteria and safety standards are met., • Extensively interface with architects, client representatives, property managers, landlords, developers, institutional owners, and vendors to coordinate project activities and maintain alignment., • Maintain strong client relationships, manage expectations, and handle conflict resolution in a professional and solutions-oriented manner., • Monitor and manage performance of all contracted vendors and consultants to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and client expectations., • Identify and address areas of concern related to potential liabilities and risk, including fee exposure, reputational risk, and errors and omissions, and escalate appropriately to leadership., • Use project management and productivity technologies, including MS Office and MS Project, to plan, track, analyze, and report on project performance., • Communicate analyzed project data regularly to clients and internal teams, providing clear updates on schedule, budget, risks, and key decisions., • Apply strong working knowledge of architectural drawings, construction documents, and space planning concepts to guide project decisions and resolve design or field issues., • Manage all aspects of construction administration, including budgeting, scheduling, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout documentation., • Ensure adherence to internal practices and policies, conveying acceptable standards to the project team and making independent judgments on operating procedures for assigned projects., • Lead relationship management for a strategic alliance client, ensuring consistent delivery, satisfaction, and identification of new opportunities., • Develop and cultivate business relationships with existing and prospective clients, actively pursuing new project opportunities and contributing to business development efforts., • Demonstrate high energy, the ability to energize others, and a willingness to take calculated risks and make tough decisions in support of project and business goals., • Contribute to the refinement of best practices and standards of excellence for the business unit and broader organization when requested by leadership., • Keep regional and Senior leadership fully and accurately informed of all project, internal, and client issues that may impact the firm’s local, national, or global reputation., • Lead, mentor, and, where applicable, manage a team of project managers and project staff, including supervising, training, coaching, and evaluating performance., • Recommend and support talent decisions in collaboration with leadership and Human Resources to build a high-performing project management team., • Foster a collaborative, cross-discipline approach to service delivery by engaging resources across the organization to meet client needs and promote a unified, “one-firm” culture., • Leverage strong understanding of lease agreements to manage project-related risk and responsibility in coordination with clients and stakeholders., • 5–10 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager or in a similar Senior-level project management role within construction or industrial projects., • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management., • Proven experience managing large-scale industrial construction projects, including manufacturing and aerospace projects., • Demonstrated expertise in construction management for site work, core and shell, and interior renovation projects., • Ability to manage multiple medium and large ground-up development projects, major redevelopment projects, and corporate interior projects simultaneously., • Strong understanding of lease agreements and the ability to manage associated project risk and responsibility., • Advanced project management capabilities, including budgeting, scheduling, submittal review, and change order management., • Strong working knowledge of architectural drawings, construction documents, and furniture and space planning concepts., • Extensive experience using MS Office applications and MS Project for project planning, tracking, and reporting., • Highly organized with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and communicate complex project data., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with executive-level clients and external partners., • Demonstrated ability to lead individuals across a broad or national platform to deliver superior client service., • Previous experience supervising, training, mentoring, and evaluating project managers at various levels., • Solid understanding of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and scheduling processes as they relate to corporate real estate and construction., • Experience with industrial construction projects, including semiconductor and data center environments., • Background in business development with a demonstrated ability to identify, pursue, and win new project opportunities., • A proactive, driven mindset with eagerness to grow the business and expand client relationships., • Experience working on manufacturing and aerospace projects is strongly preferred., • Demonstrated ability to manage vendor and project team performance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and regulatory standards., • Capability to make independent judgments related to operating procedures and project decisions within established guidelines., • Experience contributing to the development of best practices and standards of excellence within a project management or construction organization. This role is primarily based in an office environment with regular travel to local project sites in and around Ontario, California. The Senior Project Manager remains present and available for in-person client and internal meetings and provides on-site supervision as needed to oversee construction activities. Travel to project sites is local and supported with mileage reimbursement. The work environment involves close collaboration with internal teams and external partners, frequent use of project management and office software, and engagement in both strategic planning and hands-on field coordination. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ontario, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $69.71 - $79.32/hr.
